Patna Pirates (PTP) is a professional kabaddi team based in Patna, Bihar, that plays in the Pro Kabaddi League. The team is led by Ankit Jaglan and coached by Anup Kumar (kabaddi). Their home ground is the Patliputra Sports Complex. The Pirates are the most successful team in PKL history with a record of winning 3 out of 8 titles and winning all of them in successive. They are also one time runners up in season 8 of pkl which started after the COVID-19 pandemic. The Pirates won their first title by defeating defending champions U Mumba in 2016 (January), after reaching the semi-finals in the previous two seasons (2014 and 2015). Anup Kumar (kabaddi)
Anup Kumar Anup is an Indian former professional Kabaddi player and Kabaddi Coach of PKL Team Patna Pirates . He was a member of the India national kabaddi team that won Asian gold medals in 2010 and 2014, one South Asian gold medal in 2016 and the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup. He was the captain of the Indian National Kabaddi Team. He spent five years with U Mumba and later moved to Jaipur Pink Panthers. In 2012, the Government of India conferred the Arjuna Award on him for his achievements in the sport. He is employed as a Deputy Commissioner of Police in his native State of Haryana. The 2023–2024 Pro Kabaddi League was the tenth season of the Pro Kabaddi League, a franchise based kabaddi league in India. Jaipur Pink Panthers were the defending champions. Pardeep Narwal (born 16 February 1997) is an Indian former international kabaddi player, who played as a raider. Widely regarded as the greatest raider in kabaddi history, he led the Patna Pirates to three straight titles in Pro Kabaddi League and holds a multitude of the league's raiding records. Early life Narwal was born in Rindhana village of Haryana's Sonipat district, where he started playing kabaddi. He started learning Kabaddi when he was only 6 years old. He got picked for his school's Kabaddi team when he was just 11 years old. Later, at 12, he joined the Haryana Kabaddi Academy.
