These will be manufactured in India by SMPP Pvt Ltd. This is in addition to the 50,000 vests ordered in 2016 under emergency procurement. National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is an autonomous institute offering courses in fashion, technology, and management. Its head office is located in New Delhi, India. History NIFT was established in 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. It was declared a statutory institute in 2006 under the NIFT Act of the Indian Parliament and empowered to grant its own degree. Along with the Ministry of Textiles, NIFT is in the process of creating an India-specific size chart. The new digital disruptive pattern camouflage uniform adopted by the Indian Army in 2022 was designed in association with NIFT. Campus National Institute of Fashion Technology currently has 19 campuses spread across the country. The first campus was established in 1986 in Hauz Khas, Haus Khaz, New Delhi.
