Colin George Pates (born 10 August 1961) is an English former professional association football, footballer who made more than 400 appearances in the Football League. He played for various clubs, mainly in London, in a defensive role. Career Pates was born in Wimbledon, London. He began his career with Chelsea F.C., Chelsea, making his debut as an 18-year-old in a 7–3 victory against Leyton Orient F.C., Orient in 1979. He remained with Chelsea through the turbulent early 1980s and as club Captain (association football), captain led the side to promotion in 1983-84 in English football, 1983–84. Richard Edmund Pates (born February 12, 1943) is an American Catholic prelate who served as Bishop of Des Moines from 2008 to 2019 and as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis from 2000 to 2008. After his retirement, Pates served as apostolic administrator of both the Diocese of Joliet in Illinois and the Diocese of Crookston for short terms. On April 4, 2023, Pope Francis appointed Pates as administrator of the Archdiocese of Dubuque due to the abrupt retirement of Archbishop Michael Jackels. Calubian, officially the Municipality of Calubian (; ; ), is a municipality in the province of Leyte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 31,646 people. History On January 8, 1919, Governor-General Charles E. Yeater issued Executive Order No. 4, creating the town of Calubian, which is formerly a barrio of the Municipality of Leyte, Leyte. Pate's Grammar School is a grammar school with academy status in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. It caters for pupils aged 11 to 18. The school was founded with a fund bestowed to Corpus Christi College, Oxford, by Richard Pate in 1574. The school became co-educational in 1986, when Pate's Grammar School for Girls merged with Cheltenham Grammar School.
