Pate Mustajärvi
Pauli Antero "Pate" Mustajärvi (born July 12, 1956) is a Finnish rock singer. He is known as the vocalist, frontman and only original member of Popeda as well as a solo artist. In his birthplace of Tampere he is known as "Ikurin turbiini" ("the turbine of Ikuri)." Mustajärvi appears on the 1984 film ''Calamari Union'' by Aki Kaurismäki, playing one of the fifteen main characters named Frank. In 2004 Mustajärvi performed two songs on the soundtrack of the Finnish action/thriller film ''Vares - yksityisetsivä''. According to his label, Poko Rekords, Mustajärvi is set to release two cover albums in 2009, one featuring songs from his longtime friend Juice Leskinen, the other dedicated to translations of Johnny Cash John R. Poko Rekords
Poko Rekords was a Finnish record label. It was established in 1977, but ceased operations in 2009. In the early years, Poko Rekords focused mainly on punk and rockabilly music and later expanded its artist range to heavier rock music. Poko Rekords released records by many successful Finnish artists and bands. Among others, Eppu Normaali, Popeda, Hassisen Kone, Sielun Veljet, J. Popeda
Popeda is a Finnish rock band hailing from Tampere and one of the staples of Manserock. Epe Helenius, who signed the band for Poko Rekords in 1977, called the band "Finnish Rolling Stones". Musically their style is a combination of rock 'n' roll, with humorous lyrics by their vocalist Pate Mustajärvi, often concerning girls, cars and drinking. Popeda was founded in November 1977 by Pauli "Pate" Mustajärvi and Ilari "Ilpo" Ainiala. Popeda's 1983 album ''Kaasua'' is considered their breakthrough. Aki Olavi Kaurismäki (; born 4 April 1957) is a Finnish film director and screenwriter. Juhani Juice Leskinen (officially Pauli Matti Juhani "Juice" Leskinen; 19 February 1950 – 24 November 2006), better known as Juice Leskinen ( as if the word ''juice'' were Finnish) was one of the most important and successful Finnish singer-songwriters of the late 20th century.
