Pat Light
Patrick James Light (born March 29, 1991) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins. In early 2023, Mr. Light attempted to move on from his baseball past, and adopted the moniker, “Business Pat”, which mainly includes posting inspirational tweets and drinking. Although, now he is starting to return to his previous lifestyle as Baseball Pat. Amateur career While pitching at high school, Light posted a 20–0 record with a 1.52 earned run average for the Christian Brothers Academy in New Jersey, en route to set the best season pitching record in Shore Conference history. The Minnesota Twins selected Light in the 28th round of the 2009 draft, but he went on to college instead. Strikeout
In baseball or softball, a strikeout (or strike-out) occurs when a batter accumulates three strikes during a time at bat. It usually means that the batter is out. A strikeout is a statistic recorded for both pitchers and batters, and is denoted by K in scorekeeping and statistics. Matt Barnes (baseball)
Matthew David Barnes (born June 17, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). Listed at and , he bats and throws right-handed. He made his MLB debut in 2014. Barnes throws a high-90s four-seam fastball, a curveball, and a changeup. Prior to being drafted by the Red Sox in the first round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft, he played college baseball at University of Connecticut, where he was named a First Team All-American. Early years Barnes went to Bethel High School in Bethel, Connecticut. In high school, he was named to the All-State team. He was also a member of the basketball team. Portland Sea Dogs
The Portland Sea Dogs are a Minor League Baseball team based in Portland, Maine, playing in the Eastern League. Established in 1994, the Sea Dogs are the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. The Sea Dogs became part of the Red Sox system for the 2003 season; previously they were affiliated with the Florida Marlins. The change in affiliation brought success in the 2005 and 2006 seasons as the Sea Dogs went to the Eastern League championship series both years. They won their first-ever title on September 17, 2006, defeating the Akron Aeros, 8–5, in a rematch of the series from the previous year. The Salem Red Sox are a Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB), based in Salem, an independent city adjacent to Roanoke, Virginia. The team competes at the Single-A level in the Carolina League. Home games are played at Haley Toyota Field at Salem Memorial Ballpark, a 6,300-seat facility opened in 1995.
