Pat (Alice's Adventures In Wonderland)
Pat is a fictional character in Lewis Carroll's 1865 book ''Alice's Adventures in Wonderland''. He appears in the chapter "The Rabbit Sends in a Little Bill." He works for the White Rabbit like his friend Bill the Lizard. Carroll never gives any description of the character other than being a gardener, and his species has been widely debated, with evidence showing he is likely to be a monkey or a guinea pig. When the White Rabbit mistakes Alice (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland), Alice for his maid, Mary Ann, she drinks from a bottle that makes her grow. The Rabbit thinks she is a monster, so he asks Pat to climb down the chimney to get the monster out of his house. Pat refuses, so the Rabbit decides to send Bill the Lizard to climb down instead. When Bill climbs down the chimney, Alice kicks him, causing him to fly out of the chimney and back into the Rabbit's garden. Appearance Pat's appearance has been of much debate as Carroll never gives any description of the character, so ...

Paroxysmal Atrial Tachycardia
Atrial tachycardia is a type of heart rhythm problem in which the heart's electrical impulse comes from an ectopic pacemaker (that is, an abnormally located cardiac pacemaker) in the upper chambers ( atria) of the heart, rather than from the sinoatrial node, the normal origin of the heart's electrical activity. As with any other form of tachycardia (rapid heart beat), the underlying mechanism can be either the rapid discharge of an abnormal focus, the presence of a ring of cardiac tissue that gives rise to a circle movement ( reentry),''Curr Opin Cardiol.'' 2001 Jan;16(1):1–7. "Basic mechanisms of reentrant arrhythmias". Antzelevitch C. or a triggered rapid rhythm due to other pathological circumstances (as would be the case with some drug toxicities, such as digoxin toxicity). Classification Forms of atrial tachycardia (ATach) include multifocal atrial tachycardia (MAT), focal atrial tachycardia and atrial flutter. Paddington Alcohol Test
The Paddington alcohol test (PAT) was first published in the '' Journal of Accident & Emergency Medicine'' in 1996. It was designed to identify alcohol-related problems amongst those attending accident and emergency departments. It concords well with the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) questionnaire but is administered in a fifth of the time. When 40–70% of the patients in an accident and emergency department (AED) are there because of alcohol-related issues, it is useful for the staff of the AED to determine which of them are hazardous drinkers so that they can treat the underlying cause and offer brief advice which may reduce the health impact of alcohol for that patient. In accident and emergency departments it is also important to triage incoming patients as quickly as possible, to reduce staff size and cost. In one study, it took an average of 73 seconds to administer the AUDIT questionnaire but only 20 seconds for the PAT. The working version of the P ...

Personal Access Token
In computing, a personal access token (or PAT) is a string of characters that can be used to authenticate a user when accessing a computer system instead of the usual password. Though associated with a single account, multiple PATs may be created, and can be manipulated independently of the password associated with that account, including creation and revocation of PATs without altering the password. The PAT is usually generated automatically by the remote system — for example, as a string of 52 alphanumeric characters. Typically, permissions may also be adjusted for each PAT individually, allowing or restricting access to certain classes of data or functions on the remote system. These permissions can usually be adjusted only after authenticating with the password. This can be a useful form of delegation of authorization Authorization or authorisation (see American and British English spelling differences#-ise, -ize (-isation, -ization), spelling differences), in inform ...

Program Association Table
Program-specific information (PSI) is metadata about a program (channel) and part of an MPEG transport stream. The PSI data as defined by ISO/IEC 13818-1 (MPEG-2 Part 1: Systems) includes four tables: * PAT (Program Association Table) * CAT (Conditional Access Table) * PMT (Program Mapping Table) * NIT (Network Information Table) The MPEG-2 specification does not specify the format of the CAT and NIT. PSI is carried in the form of a table structure. Each table structure is broken into sections, although some tables like a PMT cannot have more than one section. Each section can span multiple transport stream packets. On the other hand, although this is uncommon, a transport stream packet or set of packets under the same PID can contain multiple sections belonging to different tables. Adaptation field also occurs in TS packets carrying PSI data. The PSI data will never be scrambled so that the decoder at the receiving end can easily identify the properties of the stream. The s ...

Port Address Translation
Network address translation (NAT) is a method of mapping an IP address space into another by modifying network address information in the IP header of packets while they are in transit across a traffic routing device. The technique was initially used to bypass the need to assign a new address to every host when a network was moved, or when the upstream Internet service provider was replaced but could not route the network's address space. It is a popular and essential tool in conserving global address space in the face of IPv4 address exhaustion. One Internet-routable IP address of a NAT gateway can be used for an entire private network. As network address translation modifies the IP address information in packets, NAT implementations may vary in their specific behavior in various addressing cases and their effect on network traffic. Vendors of equipment containing NAT implementations do not commonly document the specifics of NAT behavior. History Internet Protocol versi ...

The Intel Performance Acceleration Technology (PAT) is technology built onto Intel i875 Canterwood mainboards and other Pentium 4 based motherboards that based on the Intel D875PBZ reference board. Page Attribute Table
The page attribute table (PAT) is a processor supplementary capability extension to the page table format of certain x86 and x86-64 microprocessors. Like memory type range registers (MTRRs), they allow for fine-grained control over how areas of memory are cached, and are a companion feature to the MTRRs. Unlike MTRRs, which provide the ability to manipulate the behavior of caching for a limited number of fixed physical address ranges, Page Attribute Tables allow for such behavior to be specified on a per-page basis, greatly increasing the ability of the operating system An operating system (OS) is system software that manages computer hardware and software resources, and provides common daemon (computing), services for computer programs. PAT (model Checker)
PAT (Process Analysis Toolkit) is a self-contained framework for composing, simulating and reasoning of concurrent, real-time systems and other possible domains. It includes user interfaces, model editor and animated simulator. PAT implements various model checking techniques catering for different properties such as freedom from deadlock and divergence In vector calculus, divergence is a vector operator that operates on a vector field, producing a scalar field giving the rate that the vector field alters the volume in an infinitesimal neighborhood of each point. (In 2D this "volume" refers to ..., reachability, LTL properties with fairness assumptions, refinement checking and probabilistic model checking. To achieve good performance, advanced optimization techniques are implemented in PAT, e.g. partial order reductionsymmetry reduction process counter abstraction. References {{Reflist, refs = J. Patince
Patince () is the southernmost village and municipality in Slovakia, in the Komárno District in the Nitra Region of south-west Slovakia. Geography The village lies at an altitude of 111 metres and covers an area of 11.306 km2. It has a population of about 450 people. History In the 11th century, the territory of Patince became part of the Kingdom of Hungary. In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1260. After the Austro-Hungarian army disintegrated in November 1918, Czechoslovak troops occupied the area, later acknowledged internationally by the Treaty of Trianon. Between 1938 and 1945 Patince once more became part of Miklós Horthy's Hungary through the First Vienna Award. From 1945 until the Velvet Divorce, it was part of Czechoslovakia. Since then it has been part of Slovakia. Sights * ''St. Vendel Roman Catholic Church'' - The single-nave church, originally built of stone in the 13th century.
