Passmore Williamson
Passmore Williamson (February 23, 1822 – February 1, 1895) was an American abolitionist and businessman in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a free state in the antebellum years. As secretary of the Pennsylvania Anti-Slavery Society and a member of its Vigilance Committee, Williamson is best known for helping Jane Johnson and her two sons gain freedom from slavery on July 18, 1855.Phil Lapsansky"The Liberation of Jane Johnson,"The Library Company of Philadelphia, 2003. Passmore, Milton Keynes
Old Woughton ( ) is a district and civil parish in south central Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England. The parish was established in April 2012 by the division into two parts of Woughton parish. The original (undivided) civil parish was itself originally called "Woughton on the Green". History Woughton-on-the-Green is listed in the Domesday Book of 1086. The parish church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin dates from the 13th century. The tower was added in the 15th century, and the church was extended in the 19th century, adding the north porch and organ loft. The Old Swan Inn dates back to 1700. Woughton House was built in 1813, and was the home of Major W J Levi JP of the Royal Bucks Hussars. It is now a hotel. The Methodist Chapel dates from 1867. Passmores Academy is a 11-16 secondary school in Harlow, Essex. The academy has an annual intake of 240 pupils in Year 7, and approximately 1,000 pupils. It featured in the 2011 television series Educating Essex. The principal is Natalie Christie. History The school was originally Passmores Comprehensive School, later becoming Passmores School and Technology College, until its conversion to Academy status in September 2011 when the name was changed to Passmores Academy. The school reopened for the 2011–12 school year on a new site which is approximately one mile from its old site.
