Paso De Las Duranas
Paso de las Duranas is a ''cultural center'' in Montevideo, Uruguay. Location It is located in Aires Puros, between Belvedere and Sayago to the northwest, Lavalleja to the north and Prado to the south. Landmarks Paso de las Duranas is home to the National Museum of Anthropology and to the Museo de la Memoria, which is dedicated to the history of the fight of the Uruguayan people against the repression of the dictatorship. In its east side it also contains the northmost edge of the Prado park, where the former building of the Sociedad Nativista was transformed into a museum. ''Barrio'' () is a Spanish word that means " quarter" or " neighborhood". In the modern Spanish language, it is generally defined as each area of a city, usually delimited by functional (e.g. residential, commercial, industrial, etc.), social, architectural or morphological features. In Spain, several Latin American countries and the Philippines, the term may also be used to officially denote a division of a municipality. Prado, Montevideo
Prado is a ''barrio'' (neighbourhood or district) and a major public park in Montevideo, Uruguay. Together with Nueva Savona, they form the Prado - Nueva Savona composite barrio. Prado is also the name given to all the park areas on both sides of Miguelete Creek, limited by the bridge of Agraciada Avenue over the river to the south and by Millan Avenue to the northeast. Location As a ''barrio'', it is a residential neighbourhood of mansions on tree-lined streets built in the early 20th century. Museo De La Memoria (Uruguay)
Museo de la Memoria (MUME) is a museum in Montevideo, Uruguay dedicated to the memory of those or died or were "disappeared" during the Uruguayan dictatorship of 1973 to 1985. The museum Museo de la Memoria was established to commemorate the victims of crimes committed by the state, and the resistance of some Uruguayans in the face of this oppression, during the country's dictatorship. It aims to educate new generations about the country's recent history, to promote respect for human rights, and to remember the struggle for liberty, democracy and social justice.
