Pasir Ris Station
Pasir Ris MRT station () is an elevated Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the East West line (EWL) in Pasir Ris, Singapore. Situated along Pasir Ris Central adjacent to Pasir Ris Bus Interchange, Pasir Ris Mall and the White Sands Shopping Mall, it is the eastern terminus of the EWL. The station exterior has the characteristic dome-shaped segmented roof also seen on other elevated EWL stations. The station opened on 16 December 1989 as the terminus of the MRT's eastern line extension. In 2016, two maintenance workers were run over and killed on the tracks away from the station. In January 2019, it was announced that the station would be an interchange with the Cross Island line (CRL) when the first stage opens in 2030. The station is also planned to be the terminus for the future CRL branch extension to Punggol station in 2032, as announced in March 2020. Tanah Merah MRT station ( ) is an elevated Mass Rapid Transit (Singapore), Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the East West MRT line, East West line (EWL). Located in Bedok, Singapore, the station is along New Upper Changi Road and serves various residential developments, including Casa Merah. It is the terminus of the EWL branch to Changi Airport MRT station, Changi Airport station. Tentatively named Changi MRT station during its construction, the station opened on 4 November 1989. The station began to serve the Changi Airport branch on 10 January 2001 following the opening of Expo station. In 2024, the station was expanded to four platforms to increase frequency for the Changi Airport branch. Communications-based train control (CBTC) is a railway signaling system that uses telecommunications between the train and track equipment for traffic management and infrastructure control. A high-volume low-speed (HVLS) fan is a type of mechanical fan greater than in diameter. HVLS fans are generally ceiling fans although some are pole mounted. HVLS fans move slowly and distribute large amounts of air at low rotational speed– hence the name "high volume, low speed." Mah Bow Tan ( zh, s=马宝山, p=Mǎ Bǎoshān; born 12 September 1948) is a Singaporean former People's Action Party politician who served as Leader of the House between 2007 and 2011, Minister for National Development between 1999 and 2011, Minister for the Environment from 1993 to 1995, and Minister for Communications between 1991 and 1999.
