Pascual Fort
Pascual Fort Pascual (Reus, 1927 - Barcelona, 1991) son of writer Jaume Fort i Prats, was a Catalan enameller, printmaker and gallery owner. From a family of goldsmiths and silversmiths (Joieria Fort in Reus) Pascual Fort dedicated himself to artistic experimentation through printmaking, enamel and reliefs. He settled in Tarragona, where he founded the Galeria Fort, which the artist kept open for ten years (1964-1973) on the Rambla Nova, with his wife Mercè Barberà i Rusiñol. He was part of the artistic groups Cercle Pere Joan and Grup de Tarragona. He soon gained prestige in promoting the innovative art of the time. Both renowned artists ( Miró, Rouault...) and promising young people from the Camp de Tarragona exhibited in the gallery. Reus
Reus () is the capital of Baix Camp, in the province of Tarragona, in Catalonia, Spain. Juan Eduardo Cirlot
Juan Eduardo Cirlot Laporta (9 April 1916 – 11 May 1973) was a Spanish poet, art critic, hermeneutist, mythologist, and musician. Biography Cirlot was born in Barcelona to Juan Cirlot and Maria Laporta. There he matriculated high school from the College of the Jesuits and worked in a customs agency and the Banco Hispanoamericano while also studying music. In 1937, he was mobilized to fight for the Second Spanish Republic. In early 1940, he was mobilized again, but this time by the pro-Franco side. He was in Zaragoza until 1943; there he frequented the city's intellectual and artistic circles and associated with the painter Alfonso Buñuel—brother of Luis Buñuel—with whom he translated the poems of Paul Éluard, André Breton, and Antonin Artaud. Mini Print International Of Cadaqués
The Mini Print International of Cadaqués is a print competition open to all printmaking techniques and tendencies in which artists from all over the world participate. The contest is held every year and it annually brings together about 650 artists from around 50 countries of the world. Apart from the annual exhibition held at the Taller Galeria Fort in Cadaqués, since 1992 the Mini Print is also presented in England and France. The art gallery Taller Galeria Fort created by Pascual Fort and Mercedes Barberà Rusiñol in 1964, was first opened in Tarragona (1964-1973), where both renowned artists ( Miró, Rouault...) and promising young artists from Camp de Tarragona exhibited. Cadaqués
Cadaqués () is a town in the Alt Empordà ''comarca'', in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It is on a bay in the middle of the Cap de Creus peninsula, near Cap de Creus cape, on the Costa Brava of the Mediterranean. It is two-and-a-quarter-hour drive from Barcelona, and thus it is accessible not only to tourists but also to people who want a second home for weekends and summers. In 2002, Cadaqués had an official population of 2,612, but up to ten times as many people can live in the town during the peak of the summer tourism season. Camp de Tarragona () is a natural and historical region of Catalonia, Spain. Georges Rouault
Georges Henri Rouault (; 27 May 1871, Paris – 13 February 1958) was a French painter, draughtsman and print artist, whose work is often associated with Fauvism and Expressionism. Childhood and education Rouault was born in Paris into a poor family. He was born in a Parisian cellar after his family's home was destroyed in the Paris insurrection of 1871. His mother encouraged his love for the arts, and, in 1885, the fourteen-year-old Rouault embarked on an apprenticeship as a glass painter and restorer, which lasted until 1890. This early experience as a glass painter has been suggested as a likely source of the heavy black contouring and glowing colours, likened to leaded glass, which characterize Rouault's mature painting style.
