Pascoe Vale Football Club
The Pascoe Vale Sports Club is an Australian rules football club 11 km north-west of Melbourne in the suburb of Pascoe Vale. The club is affiliated with the Essendon District Football League. History The club was founded in 1918 and moved to its current location at Raeburn Reserve in 1925. The 1930s saw the club compete in the Victorian Football Association Sub District competition against clubs as West Melbourne Football Club North Melbourne Football Club, West Coburg Football Club, Footscray Football Club, Windsor, West Preston Football Club and were runners up in 1935. During the latter part of the 1930s the club transferred to the Victorian Football League Sub District competition, and played against South Melbourne District, Richmond, District, East Brunswick, Kew, Fairfield, Sunshine Football Club. The Essendon District Football League (EDFL) is a semi-professional Australian rules football league competition based in Essendon, Victoria, consisting of teams based in the north-west suburbs of Melbourne. Founded in 1930, the men's competition consists of three leagues: Premier Division, Division 1 and Division 2, with 10 clubs in the Premier Division, 11 clubs in Division 1 and 9 clubs in Division 2. Ahead of the 2025 competition, two teams will be relegated from Division 1 to Division 2 to ensure that there are 10 teams across each of the top three divisions. Pascoe Vale is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, north of Melbourne's central business district, located within the City of Merri-bek local government area. Pascoe Vale recorded a population of 18,171 at the 2021 census. History Pascoe Vale was named after John Fawkner's property "Pascoeville", which was originally a holding of . The property, established in 1839, was bounded by the Moonee Ponds Creek to the west, Gaffney Street to the south, Northumberland Road to the east and Rhodes Parade to the north. John Pascoe Fawkner built a timber house overlooking the creek, in the Marie Street area of Oak Park. Pascoe Vale Post Office opened on 25 September 1911.
