Ambroise Paré
Ambroise Paré (; – 20 December 1590) was a French barber surgeon who served in that role for kings Henry II, Francis II, Charles IX and Henry III. He is considered one of the fathers of surgery and modern forensic pathology and a pioneer in surgical techniques and battlefield medicine, especially in the treatment of wounds. He was also an anatomist, invented several surgical instruments, and was a member of the Parisian barber surgeon guild. In his personal notes about the care he delivered to Captain Rat, in the Piémont campaign (1537–1538), Paré wrote: ''Je le pansai, Dieu le guérit'' ("I bandaged him and God healed him"). This epitomises a philosophy that he used throughout his career. Élise Paré-Tousignant (1937 – August 8, 2018) was a Canadian music administrator and music pedagogue. She was employed as a music theory teacher and auditory trainor at Université Laval and then was appointed the Faculty of Arts at Université Laval's first dean in 1985. Paré-Tousignant was the university's vice-rector of human resources and held the role of artistic director of the Domaine Forget that he held from 1993 to 2001. Jean Paré, Order of Canada, CM (December 7, 1927 â€“ December 24, 2022) was a Canadian caterer, author of the ''Company's Coming'' cookbook series, and founder of Company's Coming Publishing Limited. J. Emmett Paré (January 24, 1907 – October 1973), was an American tennis player in the early part of the 20th century and the tennis coach at Tulane University who played his college tennis at Georgetown University, and was one of the early stars of professional tennis. Paré was a captain on the Georgetown University tennis team, and in 1928 he reached the doubles final in the NCAA Championships. He graduated from Georgetown in 1929. He was 19-3 in four singles appearances at the Cincinnati Open, winning the 1928 singles title and reaching the singles final in 1930. Mark Paré (born July 26, 1957) is a Canadian retired National Hockey League linesman who wore uniform number 79. Early life Paré was born in Windsor, Ontario, and raised in LaSalle. He began officiating minor and junior league hockey in the mid-1970s. Career Paré's first NHL game was on October 1, 1979, a matchup between the Washington Capitals and the Buffalo Sabres. François-Rosaire Paré (born 1949 in Longueuil, Quebec) is a Québécois author and academic specialising in the literature of cultural minorities, though He started his career as a professor of French Renaissance literature. Paré lived in Montreal during his youth. After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree at the Université de Montréal, he pursued further studies in Buffalo, New York at SUNY.
