Parsian IF is a Swedish football club located in Upplands Väsby, Stockholm that plays in the Swedish Division 4. The club represents the Iranian community in Sweden. History Background Parsian IF, a sports club with Swedish-Iranian roots, was established in 2013 by the visionary brothers Shahram and Shahin Shabani. The club's primary emphasis initially centered around its football section, with its activities primarily based in Kista, Stockholm, until the conclusion of the 2018 season. A significant turning point occurred when the longstanding Väsby IK ceased operations during the same season. Parsian IF, seizing the opportunity, assumed control of the facilities and relocated its entire operation to Upplands Väsby, Stockholm. Subsequently, the club underwent a transformation and adopted the name Parsian Väsby IF. In January 2023, the club made the decision to return to its original name, Parsian IF. Upplands Väsby () is a locality and the seat of Upplands Väsby Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden with 149,463 inhabitants in 2020. History The municipality has a long history with clear traces of settlements from the pre-Christian times in several places. The first traces of human culture have been found during excavations of Hammarby ridge, about 400 meters south of the current Glädjen junction, where the excavation of the burial ground Ekebo found a bronze axe from around 600 to 700 BC. Division 4 is the sixth level in the league system of Swedish football and comprises 39 sections with 8 to 12 football teams in each. The competition There are 39 groups of 8 to 12 teams each representing a local geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club plays the others twice, once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents, for a total of 18 to 22 games depending on the number of teams. The top team in each Division 4 group is promoted to Division 3 and the three lowest placed teams from each Division 3 league are relegated in their place. The second placed teams in each Division 4 group plays promotion/relegation play-offs against the fourth lowest teams in Division 3. Väsby IK FK was a Swedish football club located in based in the Stockholm suburb of Upplands Väsby. It was the football section of sports club Väsby IK. Background Väsby IK Fotboll was founded in 1924. From 1996 To 2004 Väsby IK FK played in Division 2 Östra Svealand which is the third tier of Swedish football. They play their home matches at the Vilundavallen in Upplands Väsby. The clubs association football department merged with FC Café Opera United in 2005 to form Väsby United, which later became AFC Eskilstuna. In 2013, after AFC United relocated to Solna, Väsby IK FK once again formed their own football department. The club was affiliated to Stockholms Fotbollförbund.
