EID Parry Limited is an Indian public company engaged in the manufacture and marketing of sugar and bio-products, headquartered in Chennai. EID Parry has been in business since 1788, making it the oldest surviving mercantile name in Chennai. It has many firsts to its credit, including the manufacturing of fertilizers (1906) for the first time in the Indian subcontinent. Parry Field is a former sports venue in Belmont, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It is best known for being the home of baseball team Perth Heat between 1989 and 1997. The venue was built in 1983 on the site of Belmont Oval which had been primarily used for soccer and rugby league. After the demolition of the baseball stadium, the land became known as Grove Farm Reserve. History The land was part of Grove Farm, which was founded in the early 1830s. In the mid-1950s, the land was transferred to the Belmont Park Road Board and placed in a trust with the stated land use of recreation. The Parry (1910) and New Parry (1911–1912) were both Brass Era cars built in Indianapolis, Indiana by the Parry Auto Company. During that time, they produced 3500 vehicles. Two cars are known to exist. A Model 40 from 1910 and a Model 41 from 1911. Origin David Parry was the third generation of Parrys to settle in America; his grandfather, Henry Parry, was a Welsh engineer who moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Thomas Parry was born in Pittsburgh in 1822 and traveled to Indiana to begin farming. He married Lydia McLane and had five children during this time. David M Parry was born on March 26, 1852, on the family farm near Laurel, Indiana, and grew up there. Parry People Movers Ltd. (PPM) was a small British manufacturer of lightweight railcars that use flywheel energy storage for traction, allowing electric systems to operate without overhead wires or third rails. The company built one prototype and two production vehicles, the British Rail Class 139. It also designed concepts for trams and other rail technology using alternative fuels such as gas and hydrogen, but was not successful in finding further buyers among transport operators. PPM was founded and directed by John Parry, who died 17 February 2023, and the company was liquidated later that year. A parry is a fencing bladework maneuver intended to deflect or block an incoming attack. Execution To execute a parry, fencers strike the opponent's foible (fencing), foible, or the area near the tip of the blade, with their forte (fencing), forte, or the part of the blade near the bell guard (or handle) of the weapon. This deflects the opponent's blade away from them, protecting them and placing them in a good position to strike back.
