Paromitar Ekdin
''Paromitar Ek Din'' ( ''Paromitar Êkdin'', lit. "One day of Paromita's", English title: ''House of Memories'') is a 2000 Indian Bengali drama film directed by Aparna Sen. Plot The film explores the dual themes of friendship and loneliness. The film starts at Sanaka's funeral where Paromita is invited too. Paromita goes into a flashback where it is shown that she was previously married to Sanaka's younger son, Biru. The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law duo, Sanaka (Aparna Sen) and Paromita (Rituparna Sengupta), despite differences in age, backgrounds and temperaments, build a strong bond. But when Paromita's marriage to Biru breaks down, social mores prevent the women from remaining close friends. While Paromita marries Rajeev Shrivastav and begins a new life, her mother-in-law, Sanaka, is left heartbroken and alone and eventually falls seriously ill. Aparna Sen
Aparna Sen (; ) is an Indian film director, screenwriter and actress who is known for her work in Bengali cinema. She has received several accolades as an actress and filmmaker, including nine National Film Awards, six Filmfare Awards East and thirteen Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards. For her contribution in the field of arts, the Government of India honoured her with Padma Shri, the country's fourth highest civilian award. Early life and education Sen was born in a Bengali Baidya family in Kolkata. Her family originally hailed from Cox's Bazar in Chittagong District (now in Bangladesh). Her father was the veteran critic and filmmaker Chidananda Dasgupta. Kaushik Banerjee is an Indian actor who is known for his work in Cinema of West Bengal, Bengali cinema. He has appeared in more than a 100 films throughout his career of four decades. Born to the ace actor Haradhan Bannerjee, he made his acting debut opposite Mahua Roychoudhury in Dinen Gupta's Bengali language, Bengali romantic film ''Priyatama'' (1980). He claimed to fame for his Lascivious behavior, lascivious role as Devendra in Ajoy Kar's ''Bishabriksha'' (1984) which is based on the novel of the same name by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.
