Parlor James
Parlor James was a short-lived American alternative country duo active in the 1990s. The group's members were Amy Allison and Lone Justice's Ryan Hedgecock, who first met each other at a Mercury Lounge songwriter's night. Allison came up with the name "Parlor James" on a whim, after spontaneously encountering the words in a dream. Originally formed in 1994, they released their debut EP, ''Dreadful Sorry'', on Discovery Records in 1996. It was produced by Malcolm Burn, primarily on home recording equipment. Their full-length debut, ''Old Dreams'', was released on Sire Records in 1998. It was also produced by Burn. By 2001, it was considered very unlikely that the duo would release any more music. "Wrecking Ball" is a 1989 song by Neil Young, included in the album ''Freedom''. The song was covered by American singer Emmylou Harris. Composition The song was written by Neil Young. Rather than referring to a real demolition wrecking ball, the lyrics are wordplay and the song refers to a dance or ball. Emmylou Harris (born April 2, 1947) is an American singer, songwriter and musician. Malcolm Burn
Malcolm Burn (born October 4, 1960) is a Canadian-born music producer, recording engineer and musician. Emmylou Harris's '' Red Dirt Girl'', produced by Burn, won Best Contemporary Folk Album at the 2001 Grammys. Biography Born in Cornwall, Ontario, Burn grew up in Deep River, Ontario and became lead singer/keyboardist for the 1980s Canadian band Boys Brigade. Following the dissolution of that group, he turned towards music production and solo work. In 1988 Burn relocated to New Orleans where he would work with Daniel Lanois (known for his work with U2 & Peter Gabriel) on a number of projects.
