Parkmore RFC
Parkmore RFC is an Irish rugby team based in Terenure, Dublin. They play in the Leinster Metro League. The club colours are sky blue and white hoops. The club was founded in the 1907–08 season as the Carlisle club, based near Parkmore drive in Dublin 6W. A hundred years on, the club had its name changed and they moved to Terenure RFC grounds. At the moment they have two teams, a first XV and an occasional second team for friendlies. History Beginnings at Parkmore Drive: 1907–1945 Carlisle RFC can trace its history back to the 1907–1908 season. At that time a team drawn from Dublin's Jewish Community, captained by I. Wigoder played a number of games under the name Carlisle RFC. It was so called because similar to the Cricket Club, a number of the founding members lived in Carlisle Street. Okey Geffin
Aaron "Okey" Geffin (28 May 1921 – 16 October 2004) was a South African rugby union player.Encyclopedia Judaica He is sometimes considered the greatest Jewish rugby player of all time, and he was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 1998. Geffin's handprints and boot prints are displayed in the New Zealand National Rugby Museum in tribute to his 1949 kicking record. Nickname The origin of his nickname "Okey" is unknown. Connacht Rugby is one of the four professional provincial men's rugby union, rugby teams from the island of Ireland. Palmerston Football Club was an Australian football club based in Palmerston, the Northern Territory. Palmerston competed in the NorZone Premier League. After the 2008 season the club was relegated, but was reinstated in the Territory's top league on the provision of relocating its training base closer to the Palmerston city centre. Kimmage ( or ''Camaigh uisce'', meaning "crooked water-meadow", possibly referring to the meandering course of the River Poddle), is a suburb on the south side of the city of Dublin, Ireland. Ranelagh ( , ; , ) is an affluent residential area and urban village on the Southside of Dublin, Ireland in the postal district of Dublin 6. Ranelagh was originally a village called Cullenswood. It has a history of conflict, including the attack on English inhabitants in 1207 and the Battle of Rathmines in 1649.
