The JW Marriott Marquis Dubai Hotel is the world's second tallest hotel, a 72-storey, twin-tower skyscraper complex in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The AED1.8 billion complex features a 1,608-room hotel run by Marriott International. History This project, owned by the Emirates Group, was originally conceived as a single, , 77-storey tower intended to be completed in 2008 and built alongside the Sheikh Zayed Road. However, its design and location had to be changed because of the construction of a creek extension belonging to the Business Bay megaproject. The new twin-tower design was launched at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai in 2006 with towers. However, the shape of the towers was modified and the height decreased to in a later redesign. Park Towers is a high-rise condominium and apartment development located in the portion of the Perimeter Center edge city which is within the U.S. city of Sandy Springs, Georgia. The development consists of three buildings: Park Towers I, Park Towers II, and Park Towers III (Park Towers Place). Buildings II and I are the third- and fourth-tallest buildings in the city (behind Concourse Corporate Center V & VI, the "King & Queen" towers), and fourth and fifth within Perimeter Center (behind Three Ravinia Drive in Dunwoody). Park Towers is a 20-story twin-tower condominium property located east of the Las Vegas Strip, in Paradise, Nevada. The project was announced in 1998, and began construction the following year. The property was developed by Irwin Molasky and Steve Wynn, and was completed in 2001. History The project was announced by developer Irwin Molasky in March 1998, as The Park at Hughes Center. Within a year, the project had been renamed as Park Towers. The project was planned as a $100 million, two-tower condominium project with 84 units; between 30 and 40 percent of the units were already sold out as of February 1999. The project was to be developed by Irwin Molasky and Mark Fine, along with Molasky's three sons, Steven, Andrew and Alan Molasky. Park Towers is a 31-storey public housing tower in South Melbourne, Victoria built 1967–69. It is historically and architecturally the most significant of the 47 public housing towers in Victoria. At the time of its completion in 1969, the building was believed to be the tallest pre-cast load-bearing wall building in the world and had more storeys than any other building in Melbourne. It attracted international attention from architects in America, Italy, England and the USSR, and was published in several overseas sources including the RIBA Journal in January 1971. The City of South Melbourne also gave it a special award, as the best residential building erected in the municipality that year.
