Antigua Recreation Ground
Antigua Recreation Ground is the national stadium of Antigua and Barbuda. It is located in St. John's, on the island of Antigua. The ground has been used by the West Indies cricket team and Antigua and Barbuda national football team. It had Test cricket status. It was also known as the Old Recreation Ground, or the Old Rec. against England in the ''" Blackwash"'' series of 1986 at the Recreation Ground. It was also where Brian Lara twice set the record for highest individual Test innings, scoring 375 in 1994 and the current record of 400 not out in 2004, both times against England. In May 2003 the West Indies completed the highest ever successful run chase in Test Cricket at the ARG, making 418/7 against Australia in their fourth innings to win by 3 wickets. Akeem Thomas
Akeem Thomas (born January 5, 1990) is an Antiguan footballer who currently plays for Caledonia AIA and the Antigua and Barbuda national team. Club career Thomas began his career in 2009 playing for Bassa in the Antigua and Barbuda Premier Division, and helped the team win the Premier Division title in his first season with the team. In 2011 Thomas transferred to the new Antigua Barracuda FC team prior to its first season in the USL Professional Division. He made his debut for the Barracudas on April 17, 2011, in the team's first competitive game, a 2–1 loss to the Los Angeles Blues. International career Thomas made his debut for the Antigua and Barbuda national team in 2008, and has since gone on to make 13 appearances for his country, scoring one goal. Gayson Gregory
Gayson Gregory (born 5 April 1982) is an Antiguan footballer. Club career Born in Bolands, Gregory was named Most Valuable Player of the 1999 season at the Antigua Football Association's Hall of Fame induction. He joined Trinidadian side Joe Public F.C. in March 2001 to embark a career in professional football, whilst completing his secondary education. Gregory denied rumours linking him with a move to Hoppers FC in August 2003, but a month later did move to Hoppers. It was revealed in 2005 that Gregory was registered with two teams, Freemansville and Wadadli FC, and that Freemansville had made a request for him to be released from his contract with Wadadli.
