Pardesi (1957 Film)
''Pardesi'' (; ) is a 1957 film jointly directed by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas and Vasili Pronin. It was made in two versions, Hindi and Russian, and is based on the travelogues of Russian traveller Afanasy Nikitin, called '' A Journey Beyond the Three Seas'', which is now considered a Russian literary monument. Made during the high time of Indo-Russian amity, ''Pardesi'' is an Indo-Soviet co-production between the state-owned Mosfilm and Khwaja Ahmad Abbas's Naya Sansar International production house. The film has music by Anil Biswas, and had some memorable hits such as ''Rasiya Re Man Basiya Re'', by Meena Kapoor, ''Na Dir Dim'', by Lata Mangeshkar and was danced to by Padmini. The film was in SovColor, though no colour print of the Hindi version is known to survive in India. Only a black and white copy of the Hindi film survives. Pardesi (1993 Film)
Pardesi is a 1993 Hindi action film starring Mithun Chakraborty and Varsha Usgaonkar with Shakti Kapoor and Sumalatha in supporting roles. Plot Pardesi is the story of young villager Shiva who along with his family wants to be free from the claws of slavery imposed upon by the village Thakur and Lala since many generations. Shiva decides to leave village and go to big city in search of new life but tragedy stuck, he is caught by the police for a heinous murder. Judge Rajiv Verma (Suresh Oberoi) finds Shiva guilty and pronounces death penalty on him. Before Shiva could be hanged he expresses his last wish to meet the Judge the one who had sentenced him. Shaukat Pardesi
Sheikh Mohammed Irfan alias Shaukat Pardesi (Urdu: شوکت پردیسی, April 1924 – October 1995) was a poet, journalist and lyricist born in Malaysia, where his father Sheikh Sahib Ali had migrated from Maroofpur village in Jaunpur district of India. During 1950's Pardesi was associated with Urdu Daily ''Inquilab'' for some-time and also acted as the editor of ''Film Times Weekly'' magazine. He published and edited an acclaimed monthly Urdu magazine titled ''Munna'' for children. The writings of eminent writers like Niaz Fatehpuri, Ale Ahmad Suroor, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, etc. had supported ''Munna'' magazine during that time. His ghazals and nazms were published in almost all known Urdu journals and were recorded by His Master's Voice in the melodious voices of various famous singers of his time viz. Pardesiya
Pardesiya () is a town in the Central District of Israel. Located on the Sharon plain, between Kfar Yona and the Lev HaSharon Regional Council, it was founded between 1937 and 1939. In it had a population of ; its jurisdiction is 1,273 dunams (~1.3 km2) History Before the 20th century, Pardesiya (from Arabic, Ghabet Fardisya) formed part of the Forest of Sharon, a hallmark of the region's historical landscape. It was an open woodland dominated by Mount Tabor Oak (Quercus ithaburensis), which extended from Kfar Yona in the north to Ra'ananna in the south. The local Palestinian inhabitants traditionally used the area for pasture, firewood and intermittent cultivation. The intensification of settlement and agriculture in the coastal plain during the 19th century led to deforestation and subsequent environmental degradation known from Hebrew sources.
