Paranthu Po
''Paranthu Po'' () is an 2025 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language road film, road musical comedy film, musical comedy film written, directed and co-produced by Ram (director), Ram under his banner Seven Seas and Seven Hills Productions along with JioHotstar and GKS Bros Productions. The film stars Shiva (actor), Shiva and Mithul Ryan in the lead roles alongside Grace Antony, Anjali (actress), Anjali, Vijay Yesudas, Aju Varghese and others in important roles. The music and background score was composed by Santhosh Dhayanidhi and Yuvan Shankar Raja, while the cinematography and editing were handled by N. K. Ekambaram and Mathi V. S. respectively. The film was extensively shot in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. ''Paranthu Po'' was screened on 4 February 2025 in the International Film Festival Rotterdam and it had its theatrical release on 4 July 2025. Ram (director)
Ram is an Indian film director and actor, who works in Tamil cinema. After assisting Hindi director Rajkumar Santoshi and working under Balu Mahendra, he made his directorial debut with ''Kattradhu Thamizh'' (2007), which fetched him strong critical acclaim. His second film ''Thanga Meengal'' (2013) also won critical praise and three National Film Awards. He released his next film, ''Taramani (film), Taramani'', in August 2017 to critically acclaim and it eventually became a box-office success, evidently the biggest commercial success of his career. His next three films, ''Peranbu'' (2018), ''Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai'' (2024), and ''Paranthu Po'' (2025), premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. In addition to mentoring a new generation of filmmakers such as Mari Selvaraj and S. U. Arun Kumar, Ram's unique approaches to art, craft, and philosophy make him an important figure in Tamil cinema.
