Papa Cidy
Papa Cidy (born Hamidu Sekyeru, 8 March 1986) is a Ugandan singer and music executive. Papa Cidy sings in Luganda, English and Swahili. He is vice president of Ugandan music label Leone Island. Papa Cidy himself says "I'm ready to entertain whatever is on planet earth". Musical career Papa Cidy joined Leone Island as a costume designer in 2009. He had previously recorded a single title "Tolina Kisa". When label president Jose Chameleone heard those vocals, he decided Cidy's talents were being wasted as a tailor. Cidy and Chameleone recorded a song together that proved to be Papa Cidy's big break. The pair has since released other duets, including "Joselina", "Daniella", "Meeme Katale" and "Nishike Mukononi". Kampala (, ) is the Capital city, capital and largest city of Uganda. Reggae
Reggae () is a music genre that originated in Jamaica during the late 1960s. The term also denotes the modern popular music of Jamaica and its Jamaican diaspora, diaspora. Ragga
Raggamuffin music (or simply ragga) is a subgenre of dancehall and reggae music. The instrumentals primarily consist of electronic music with heavy use of sampling. Wayne Smith's " Under Mi Sleng Teng", produced by King Jammy in 1985 on a Casio MT-40 synthesizer, is a seminal ragga song. "Sleng Teng" boosted Jammy's popularity immensely, and other producers quickly released their own versions of the riddim, accompanied by dozens of different vocalists. Kidandali
Kidandali is a stylistic music genre featuring the use of native sounds and samples from Uganda. Kidandali is a word from the Ganda language which in translation can mean "local party" or "celebration". Music concerts and traditional wedding ceremonies (kwanjula) are examples of such "bidandali". The music itself is given this name because most times it is the kind of music played or performed at such local parties and functions. Joseph Mayanja (born 30 April 1979), better known by the stage name Jose Chameleone, is a Ugandan AfroBeat artist and musician. He sings in Luganda, English, and Swahili. Early life and education Joseph Mayanja was born on 30 April 1979 to Gerald and Prossy Mayanja in Kampala district, as the fourth of eight children.
