Paolo Caliari (152819 April 1588), known as Paolo Veronese ( , ; ), was an Italian Renaissance painter based in Venice, known for extremely large history paintings of religion and mythology, such as ''The Wedding at Cana (Veronese), The Wedding at Cana'' (1563) and ''The Feast in the House of Levi'' (1573). Giovanni Francesco Caroto
Giovanni Francesco Caroto (1480 – 1555 or 1558) was an Italian painter of the Renaissance active mainly in his native city of Verona. He initially apprenticed under Liberale da Verona (1445–1526/1529), a conservative painter infused with the style of Mantegna, but after a stay in Milan, Caroto began responding to the other influences from Francesco Bonsignori, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, and Giulio Romano; but he never lost a certain individuality and his rich Veronese colour. He trained prominent Mannerist painter Paolo Veronese, who was active mainly in Venice, as well as Antonio Badile. Examples of his art are in the Castello, Milan, the Chiesa de Carità, Mantua, in the Uffizi and Pitti, Florence, and in the museums of Dresden, Prague ('' Saint John the Evangelist on Patmos'') and Budapest. Antonio Badile (c. 1518 – 1560) was an Italian painter from Verona. Biography He was the grandson of the Veronese 15th-century painter Giovanni Badile. He trained with his uncle Francesco Badile (died 1544). He was the first master of Paolo Veronese, and later his father-in-law. Veronese later moved to train with Giovanni Francesco Caroto. Alessandro Turchi
Alessandro Turchi (1578 – 22 January 1649) was an Italian painter of the early Baroque, born and active mainly in Verona, and moving late in life to Rome. He also went by the name Alessandro Veronese or the nickname ''L'Orbetto''. His style has been described as soft and Caravaggesque at the same time. Biography Turchi initially trained with Felice Riccio (''il Brusasorci'') in Verona. By 1603, he was working as independent painter, and in 1606–1609, Turchi painted the organ shutters for the Accademia Filarmonica of Verona. When Brusasorci died in 1605, Turchi and his fellow painter Pasquale Ottino completed a series of their deceased master's canvases. In 1610, he completed an ''Assumption'' altarpiece for the church of San Luca of Verona.
