Paolo Cento
Paolo Cento (born 10 July 1962) is an Italian politician. Biography Paolo Cento began his political commitment in the Catholic groups and in the AGESCI. In 1985 he was among the founders of the Greens, with whom he was elected municipal (1985–1989) and provincial councilor (1990–1994) in Rome; he also served as assessor for the environment of Rome from 1994 to 1995. From 1995 to 1996 he was regional councilor of Lazio. In the political elections of 1996 he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies, in the Lazio 1 constituency, defeating the candidate for the Pole for Freedoms Gianni Alemanno. He was re-elected also in 2001 and 2006. In 2004 he publicly supported the terrorist Cesare Battisti, asking for his immediate release after being arrested by the French police. He was appointed to the Undersecretary of State for Economy and Finance in the second Prodi government. The Chamber of Deputies ( it, Camera dei deputati) is the lower house of the bicameral Italian Parliament (the other being the Senate of the Republic). The two houses together form a perfect bicameral system, meaning they perform identical functions, but do so separately. The second Prodi government was the cabinet of the government of Italy from 17 May 2006 to 8 May 2008, a total of 722 days, or 1 year, 11 months and 21 days. The 59th cabinet of the Italian Republic, it was the only cabinet of the XV Legislature. It was composed of 24 ministers, 10 deputy-ministers and 66 under-secretaries, for a total of 102 members. This was the first government of the Republic in which the Communist Refoundation Party and the Italian Radicals participated directly, and the first government supported by the entire parliamentary left wing since the De Gasperi III Cabinet in 1947. Grazia Francescato (born 23 November 1946 in Paruzzaro) is an Italian politician, journalist and activist. Biography She graduated in Foreign Languages and Literature at the Bocconi University of Milan, then moved to Rome and worked for the Daily American and Paese Sera. In 1973 she was among the founders of Effe, the first feminist magazine in Italy, which she also directed for two years, between 1976 and 1978.
