Panthrakikos
Panthrakikos Football Club ( el, Α.Π.Σ. Πανθρακικός) is a Greek football club based in Komotini, Thrace in North Eastern Greece founded in 1963. The club competed in Super League Greece during the 2008–09 season for the first time. History Early years (1963–2001) Panthrakikos F.C. was formed in the town of Komotini in 1963. Athlitiki Enosis Komotini (Athletic Union of Komotini) which was founded in 1936, and Orpheus Komotini which was founded in 1948 were merged with Panthrakikos in 1963 and 1964 respectively. The club participated in regional leagues until 1969, when they joined the Beta Ethniki. They stayed in this division until being relegated in 1978, but were promoted back to Beta Ethniki after a single season. They remained here until 1983. Panthrakikos finished 1982–83 12th in Beta Ethniki, but were relegated to Gamma Ethniki due to restructuring of the leagues. Kostas Vasilakakis
Kostas Vasilakakis ( el, Κώστας Βασιλακάκης; born 27 March 1957) is a Greek football manager and former footballer. His career began in 1973 at the age of 16 when he signed a contract with Panthrakikos. He was transferred to Doxa Drama in 1981 and fought in Alpha Ethniki for thirteen years. He ended his career as footballer of Doxa Drama in 1995 at the age of 38. Career As football player Vasilakakis began his career as striker. He later changed football position and became established as a defensive midfielder and central defender. In Panthrakikos he played eight seasons – seven in the Beta Ethniki, one in Gamma Ethniki. Playing in the first level until 38 years old, from 1981 to 1995 he played thirteen seasons in the Alpha Ethniki (now Super League) and one season in the Beta Ethniki. 2009–10 Super League Greece
The 2009–10 Super League Greece was the 74th season of the highest football league of Greece and the fourth under the name ''Super League''. The league consisted of 16 teams. Participants are the 13 best teams from the 2008–09 season and three teams that have been promoted from the Beta Ethniki. On 11 April 2010, Panathinaikos defeated Iraklis 2–0 to secure their 20th Greek title and their first one in six years. The season began on 31 August 2008 and ended on 26 April 2009. The league consisted of 16 teams. Zisis Tsekos ( el, Ζήσης Τσέκος; born 29 August 1964) is a former Greek footballer. Club career Tsekos joined Panserraikos in the Alpha Ethniki in July 1985, after four seasons with Panthrakikos in the lower divisions. The Super League Greece 1 ( el, Ελληνική Σούπερ Λιγκ 1), or Super League 1, is the highest professional association football league in Greece. The league was formed on 16 July 2006 and replaced ''Alpha Ethniki'' at the top of the Greek football league system. It consists of 14 teams and runs from August to May, with teams playing 26 games. As of May 2022, Super League Greece is ranked 15th in the UEFA ranking of leagues, based on performances in European competitions over the last five years. Yiannis Gounaris
Giannis Gounaris (Greek: Γιάννης Γούναρης; born 6 July 1952) is a Greek retired footballer and coach. Career Born in Thessaloniki, Gounaris was a right back who played for PAOK FC and Olympiacos FC in the 1970s and 80s. He earned 27 caps for the Greece National team, and participated in Euro 1980. In the early 1970s Gounaris became known for his plowing runs down the whole right wing, transitioning defence into offence. His partnership with PAOK's left fullback Kostas Iosifidis became formidable not only for PAOK, but for the Greece national team as well. The two backs played a vital role in the team that won PAOK its first ever championship. The duo would go on to play in seven cup finals for PAOK, from 1970 through to 1978.
