Panthrakikos
Panthrakikos Football Club () is a Greek football club based in Komotini, Thrace in North Eastern Greece founded in 1963. The club competed in Super League Greece during the 2008–09 season for the first time. History Early years (1963–2001) Panthrakikos F.C. was formed in the town of Komotini in 1963. Athlitiki Enosis Komotini (Athletic Union of Komotini) which was founded in 1936, and Orpheus Komotini which was founded in 1948 were merged with Panthrakikos in 1963 and 1964 respectively. The club participated in regional leagues until 1969, when they joined the Beta Ethniki. They stayed in this division until being relegated in 1978, but were promoted back to Beta Ethniki after a single season. They remained here until 1983. Panthrakikos finished 1982–83 12th in Beta Ethniki, but were relegated to Gamma Ethniki due to restructuring of the leagues. Kostas Vasilakakis
Kostas Vasilakakis (; born 27 March 1957) is a Greek football manager and former footballer. His career began in 1973 at the age of 16 when he signed a contract with Panthrakikos. He was transferred to Doxa Drama in 1981 and fought in Alpha Ethniki for thirteen years. He ended his career as footballer of Doxa Drama in 1995 at the age of 38. Career As football player Vasilakakis began his career as striker. He later changed football position and became established as a defensive midfielder and central defender. In Panthrakikos he played eight seasons – seven in the Beta Ethniki, one in Gamma Ethniki. Playing in the first level until 38 years old, from 1981 to 1995 he played thirteen seasons in the Alpha Ethniki (now Super League) and one season in the Beta Ethniki. 2023–24 Gamma Ethniki
The 2023–24 Gamma Ethniki was the 42nd season since the official establishment of the championship in 1982 and the 3rd tier of Greek football after the restructuring of 2021. It has an amateur character, while the Hellenic Football Federation (HFF) is responsible for the conduct of the championship. The competition started on 17 September 2023 and concluded on 28 April 2024, and was conducted in four groups, in contrast to 2022–23 Gamma Ethniki, 2022–23 season, when it was conducted in five groups. 72 teams were participating and 30 of them were relegated at the end of the season. The groups were formed according to geographical criteria. Delta Ethniki
Delta Ethniki () was the fourth level of Greek football championship. During the period of its existence, it was the lowest national division of the Greek championship. It was founded in the 1982–83 season and abolished in the 2012–13 season, as it was merged with the third division (Football League 2). Its history therefore spans 31 years. Many historical clubs of first division (Super League) have played in Delta Ethniki, such as Iraklis (2011–12 season), Ethnikos Piraeus, Apollon Smyrnis and Atromitos. The clubs of Delta Ethniki were divided in groups on the basis of geographical criteria. The groups usually comprised 10 teams, though this number varied between 4 and 12 over the years. The 1983–84 Gamma Ethniki was the first and inaugural season since the official establishment of the third tier of Greek football in 1983. Aiolikos and Almopos Aridea were crowned champions in ''Southern'' and ''Northern'' groups, respectively, thus winning promotion to Beta Ethniki. Athinaikos and Trikala also won promotion as a runners-up of the groups. Pannafpliakos, Atromitos Piraeus, Ilisiakos, Achaiki, Panthrakikos, Pontioi Kozani and Toxotis Volos were relegated to Delta Ethniki. Super League Greece
The Super League Greece 1 (), or Stoiximan Super League for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Greece and the highest level of the Greek football league system. The league was formed on 16 July 2006 and replaced ''Alpha Ethniki'' at the top of the Greek league system. The members of the cooperative are the Football Limited Companies (P.A.E.) that have the right to participate in the Super League 1 championship. Komotini Municipal Stadium
The Municipal Athletic Centre of Komotini is a multi-purpose stadium in the administrative capital of North-eastern Greece, the city of Komotini. History It was originally built in 1922/3, after the conquest of Western Thrace by the Greek Army. The Northern Stand was constructed in the 1950s. The smaller Southern Stand was built in the 1970s. The stadium remained in a state of disrepair until the 2000s and its capacity was 3,000. In 2006, reconstruction of the Northern Stand took place. A partial roof was also added at the same time and as a result, most of its seats are now covered. The overall renovation, the addition of a Western Stand and super-bright flood lighting were undertaken in 2008. In 2009, the Eastern Stand was added and increased the total capacity to 6,700 seats.
