Pantala Naga Pampa
"Pantala Naga Pampa" is the first track on the Dave Matthews Band's album, ''Before These Crowded Streets''. The song was the shortest track recorded by the band in the studio (until " bkdkdkdd" was released on the 2018 album '' Come Tomorrow'') and was based on an old live song known as "What Will Become of Me?" part of which can be heard at the end of " Jimi Thing" on Matthews and Tim Reynolds' album, ''Live at Luther College''. When performed live, the song regularly segues into "Rapunzel," just as it does on the studio recording. This can be heard on ''Listener Supported''. In 2024, the band started experimenting by playing the song into songs other than Rapunzel, while playing Rapunzel standalone later in the set. Dave Matthews Band (also known as DMB) is an American rock band from Charlottesville, Virginia. The band's lineup consists of Dave Matthews (lead vocals, guitar), Stefan Lessard (bass), Carter Beauford (drums), Tim Reynolds (lead guitar), Rashawn Ross (trumpet, percussion), Jeff Coffin (saxophones), and Buddy Strong (keyboards). Tim Reynolds
Tim Reynolds (born 15 December 1957) is an American guitarist and multi-instrumentalist known as both a solo artist and as lead guitarist for the Dave Matthews Band. AllMusic critic MacKenzie Wilson has called Reynolds "an under-rated master". Reynolds plays the guitar, piano, sitar, drums, violin, bass, keyboards, ethnic percussive instruments, solo djembe, harp, uses drum machines for special effects, and sings, although his performances are primarily instrumental rock music. As well as being the founding member of the band TR3, while he was a regular performer at Miller's, a bar in Charlottesville, Virginia, he befriended and encouraged the bartender, a young Dave Matthews, to form a band of his own, introducing him to local musicians, several of whom make up the Dave Matthews Band. In various Asian religious traditions, the Nāgas () are a divine, or semi-divine, race of half-human, half-serpent beings that reside in the netherworld (Patala), and can occasionally take human or part-human form, or are so depicted in art. ''Listener Supported'' is an album by the Dave Matthews Band, released on November 23, 1999. It was recorded live at Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey on September 11, 1999. In addition to being the third live release by Dave Matthews Band, Listener Supported was filmed by PBS for an ''In the Spotlight'' special, and the entire concert was released on VHS the same day and DVD on February 8, 2000. The title of this release is taken from PBS's "supported by viewers like you" underwriting spot. It is currently the only Dave Matthews Band live album to not contain the date or location in the title. This is because part of the broadcast agreement allowed PBS to release their own audio CD version of the television special. ''Live at Luther College'' is a live album by Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds recorded at the Center for Faith and Life at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. ''Under the Table and Dreaming'' is the debut studio album by the American rock band Dave Matthews Band, released on September 27, 1994. The album's first single was "What Would You Say", featuring John Popper of Blues Traveler on harmonica. Four other singles from the album followed: "Jimi Thing", "Typical Situation", "Ants Marching", and "Satellite". By March 16, 2000, the album had sold six million copies, and was certified six times platinum by the RIAA. Recording The acoustic guitar tracks on the album were played by Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds. During the recording sessions, Matthews and Reynolds would sit face-to-face with a piece of glass between them, playing the same guitar part.
