Panagiotis Manias
Panagiotis "Panos" Manias (, alternate spelling: Panayiotis, 1933 – 10 July 2020) was an international basketball player, track athlete and bridge player from Greece. During his club playing career, he played at the power forward position. Track and field career Manias began his career as an athlete competing in track competitions. He competed in both the high jump and the long jump. Basketball career Club career Manias was a member of the Panellinios Basketball Club and its famous 1950s era "Chrysi Pentada", or “The Golden Five” in English. With Panellinios, he won 3 Greek League championships, in the years 1953, 1955, and 1957. He also won two European Club Championships with the club, as he won the 1955 Brussels Basketball Tournament and the 1956 San Remo Basketball Tournament. Velo, Greece
Velo () is a town and a former municipality in Corinthia, Peloponnese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Velo-Vocha, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 76.952 km2. It is situated on the Gulf of Corinth coast, about 15 km west from Corinth, and 5 km southeast of Kiato. Greek National Road 8, the old Corinth-Patras highway, passes through the town. Greece National Basketball Team
The Greece men's national basketball team () represents Greece in international basketball. They are controlled by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, the governing body for basketball in Greece. Greece is currently ranked 13th in the FIBA World Ranking. Greece have appeared nine times at the FIBA World Cup, with their best result coming in 2006 as runners-up, after beating the United States 101–95 in the tournament's semi-final. Greece have taken part in the EuroBasket 28 times, winning the tournament twice, while also coming away with one silver (1989), as well as two bronze medals (1949, 2009). Some of the team's highlights at the competition were beating the Soviet Union 103–101 in the final in Athens to win their first title in 1987, and defeating Germany 78–62 in the final in 2005. Panellinios G.S. (Greek: Πανελλήνιος Γ.Σ.), full name, Panellinios Gymnastikos Syllogos (Greek: Πανελλήνιος Γυμναστικός Σύλλογος), is a Greek multi-sport club that is located in Athens and was founded in 1891. It is one of the oldest and more successful multi-sports clubs in Greece and also one of the oldest sports clubs in Europe. The name Panellinios can be translated as ''Pan-Hellenic'' in English, and may be used as an adjective that embraces ''the Greek Nation''. Gymnastikos Syllogos can be translated as gymnastics club. Drowning
Drowning is a type of Asphyxia, suffocation induced by the submersion of the mouth and nose in a liquid. Submersion injury refers to both drowning and near-miss incidents. Most instances of fatal drowning occur alone or in situations where others present are either unaware of the victim's situation or unable to offer assistance. After successful resuscitation, drowning victims may experience breathing problems, confusion, or unconsciousness. Occasionally, victims may not begin experiencing these symptoms until several hours after they are rescued.
