Pampanga National High School (also known as Pampanga High School, or PHS) is a high school in San Fernando, Pampanga, Philippines. It was formerly known as Jose Abad Santos High School. San Fernando, officially the City of San Fernando (; ), is a Cities of the Philippines#Legal classification, component city and capital of the Provinces of the Philippines, province of Pampanga, Philippines. Pampanga
Pampanga, officially the Province of Pampanga (; ; ), is a province in Central Luzon in the Philippines. Lying on the northern shore of Manila Bay, Pampanga is bordered by Tarlac to the north, Nueva Ecija to the northeast, Bulacan to the east, Manila Bay to the central-south, Bataan to the southwest and Zambales to the west. Its capital is the City of San Fernando, the regional center of Central Luzon. The Philippine Commission was the name of two bodies, both appointed by the president of the United States, to assist with governing the Philippines. The First Philippine Commission, also known as the Schurman Commission, was appointed by President William McKinley on January 20, 1899 as a recommendatory body. The Second Philippine Commission, also known as the Taft Commission, was appointed on March 16, 1900 to provide civil government to areas under U.S. control. It relied on the presidential war powers of the US military government for its authority. Thomasites
The Thomasites were a group of 600 American teachers who traveled from the United States to the newly occupied territory of the Philippines on the USAT Thomas, US Army Transport ''Thomas''. The group included 346 men and 180 women, hailing from 43 different states and 193 colleges, universities, and normal schools. The term 'Thomasites' has since expanded to include any teacher who arrived in the first few years of the History of the Philippines (1898–1946), American colonial period of the Philippines. Oscar Samson Rodriguez
Oscar "Oca" Samson Rodriguez (born September 19, 1945) is a Filipino lawyer and politician. He served as the mayor of San Fernando, Pampanga in the Philippines from 2004 until his third term in 2013. Rodriguez was former president of the League of Cities of the Philippines, chairman of the Regional Development Council of Central Luzon, and vice president of the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines. He is the founding president of Movement for the Advancement of Young Advocates of Pampanga, and was a prosecutor during the impeachment trial of former President Joseph Estrada. Amado Yuzon
Amado Magcalas Yuzon (August 30, 1906 – January 17, 1979) was a Filipino academic, journalist, politician and writer. Biography Yuzon graduated from Pampanga High School San Fernando in 1925. He obtained a Master of Arts, Master of Science in Business Administration, Ll. M, and Litt. D.
