Palmans–Ideal
Palmans was a Belgian professional road and cyclo-cross cycling team that existed from 1993 until 2010. The team underwent many different name changes throughout its existence, but was always sponsored by Palmans, an international road transport company. In 2000, the team merged with Collstrop, another Belgian team. The team disbanded for two years in 2004. Part of the staff and Palmans, the main sponsor, helped form a new Belgian team, . In 2006, split in two. Part of the team became and the other returned to Palmans–Collstrop. In 2010, the team permanently disbanded. Nokere Koerse
Nokere Koerse is a European semi classic single day cycle race held in the Belgian region of Flanders. The Nokere Koerse was created in 1944, initially as the ''Grand Prix Jules Lowie'' in honour of 1938 Paris–Nice winner Jules Lowie who was born in Nokere. From 2005 to 2015, the race was organized as a 1.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour, and starting in 2016 it was upgraded to a 1.HC event. Since 2021, the race has been part of the UCI ProSeries. Omloop van het Waasland ("Circuit of Waasland") is a bicycle road race held annually in the Belgian region of Waasland. From 2005 to 2016, it was organized as a 1.2 event on the UCI Europe Tour before being moved to the national calendar. In 2024, the race returned to the UCI Europe Tour. Dave Bruylandts (born 12 July 1976 in Lier) is a Belgian former professional road bicycle racer. Bruylandts was tested positive for EPO use in 2004 and was banned for 18 months. Frank Høj (born 4 January 1973) is a retired Danish professional road bicycle racer. Høj started as a stagiaire for the Zetelhallen–Vosschemie team in 1994, and became professional in 1995 for . His first win as a professional came the year after. In a live interview with Danish media station TV2 during the coverage of Tour de France 2015, Høj admitted to have used EPO in the early periods of his career, namely 1995–1998. Peter van Petegem (born 18 January 1970) is a former professional road racing cyclist. Van Petegem last rode for Quick Step-Innergetic, in 2007. He lived in Horebeke. He was a specialist in spring classics, one of ten riders to win the Tour of Flanders and Paris–Roubaix in the same season. He also earned a medal at the World Championship on two occasions; taking the silver in 1998 and winning the bronze in 2003. His last race was the GP Briek Schotte in Desselgem on 11 September 2007. Early life Born in Linköping, Östergötland Bäckstedt began as a skier, selected for the national team when he was 14. Career Bäckstedt began his professional career in 1996, riding for Collstrop before moving to Palmans in 1997. In 1998, having switched to , Bäckstedt came seventh in 1998 Paris–Roubaix and won the 19th stage of the 1998 Tour de France between La Chaux-de-Fonds and Autun.
