Palm Beach United, formerly Beaches FC, is an American soccer club based in Jupiter, Florida. They play in the Sunshine Conference of the National Premier Soccer League. The team colors are orange and blue. History Beaches FC was announced as a National Premier Soccer League expansion team on January 25, 2017. The club's ownership is composed of Trevor Adair and Levent Guler. Adair is a former coach of the Brown Bears and the Clemson Tigers men's soccer programs. The 2017 National Premier Soccer League season was the 105th season of FIFA-sanctioned soccer in the United States and the 15th season of the NPSL. Trevor Adair
Trevor Adair ( 1961 – 28 October 2020) was the head coach of the Clemson Tigers men's soccer team. He coached at the collegiate level from 1982, after playing soccer at Lock Haven University. Playing career Adair was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Michael Parker, men's soccer head coach at Lock Haven University, recruited him, and he played four seasons, 1978 to 1981, with the Eagles. In 1978, Lock Haven won the Division III NCAA Men's Soccer Championship. In 1980, having moved up a division, they won the Division II title. That year, Adair was selected as a first team All American after leading Lock Haven in scoring with sixteen goals. Adair graduated in 1982 with a bachelor's degree in economics. Coaching career Following his graduation from Lock Haven, Adair chose not to pursue a career as a professional player, but to enter the coaching ranks. National Premier Soccer League
The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is an American men's soccer league. The NPSL is a semi-professional league, comprising some teams that have paid players and some that are entirely amateur. The league is officially affiliated to the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and has automatic qualification for the U.S. Open Cup. It is the successor of the Men's Premier Soccer League, a regional league originally based in the Western United States, which has now expanded nationwide to encompass teams from 29 states. The Clemson Tigers men's soccer team represent Clemson University in the Atlantic Coast Conference of NCAA Division I soccer. The program has won 3 NCAA national championships, 14 Atlantic Coast Conference championships, and hosted 3 Hermann Trophy winners ( Bruce Murray in 1987, Wojtek Krakowiak in 1998, and Robbie Robinson in 2019). History Clemson began sponsoring a soccer team in 1934, playing a hybrid schedule of colleges and prep schools. The team was discontinued after the 1939 season.
