Palette Records
Palette Records was an independent record label, founded in Belgium in 1958 by Jacques Kluger. It was linked to the publishing company World Music, which was taken over by BMG Universal Music in 1989. The British Palette label was distributed by Pye Records. Artists included the comedian Tommy Cooper, who had a minor hit with "Don't Jump off the Roof, Dad", Monty Babson, and the Reg Owen Orchestra, whose single " Manhattan Spiritual" reached #10 on the U.S. pop chart in 1959. Independent Record Label
An independent record label (or indie label) is a record label that operates without the funding or distribution of major record labels; they are a type of small- to medium-sized enterprise, or SME. The labels and artists are often represented by trade associations in their country or region, which in turn are represented by the international trade body, the Worldwide Independent Network (WIN). Many of the labels started as producers and distributors of specific genres of music, such as jazz music, or represent something new and non-mainstream, such as Elvis Presley in the early days. Indies release rock, soul, R&B, jazz, blues, gospel, reggae, hip hop, and world music. Music appearing on indie labels is often referred to as indie music, or more specifically by genre, such as indie hip-hop. Will Tura
Arthur Achiel Albert, Knight Blanckaert (born 2 August 1940 in Veurne), known by his stage name Will Tura, is a Belgian artist famous in Flanders and the Netherlands. Tura is a singer, musician (he plays the piano, guitar, drums, accordion and harmonica), composer and songwriter. He is married to Jenny Swinnen, with whom he has a son David (born 16 October 1974) and a daughter Sandy Tura (born 21 November 1975). Career Tura started singing when he was only nine years old, covering Gilbert Bécaud and Nat King Cole. Tura's first producer was Jacques Kluger, and later his son Jean Kluger. ''Francisco Morazan'' was a cargo ship that was built in 1922 as ''Arcadia'' by Deutsche Werft, Hamburg, for German owners. She was sold in 1934 and renamed ''Elbing''. She was seized by the Allies in the River Elbe, Germany in May 1945, passed to the United Kingdom's Ministry of War Transport and renamed ''Empire Congress''.
