Palais De Tokyo
The Palais de Tokyo (''Tokyo Palace'') is a building dedicated to modern and contemporary art, located at 13 avenue du Président-Wilson, facing the Trocadéro, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. The eastern wing of the building belongs to the City of Paris, and hosts the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris (Paris' Museum of Modern Art). The western wing belongs to the French state and since 2002, has hosted the Palais de Tokyo / Site de création contemporaine, the largest museum in France dedicated to temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. The building is separated from the River Seine by the ''Avenue de New-York'', which was formerly named ''Quai Debilly'' and later ''Avenue de Tokio'' (from 1918 to 1945). The name ''Palais de Tokyo'' derives from the name of this street. The Iéna station on Line 9 of the Paris Metro is located very close to the museum. Ange Leccia (born 19 April 1952) is a contemporary French painter, photographer and film-maker. He works in Paris primarily with photography and video. Jérôme Sans (born 1960) is a French artistic director, director of contemporary art institutions, art critic, and curator. He is based in Paris. Biography Jérôme Sans was born on 2 August 1960 in Paris. Between 1994 and 1996, he served as adjunct curator of Magasin 3 in Stockholm, Sweden. From 1996 to 2003, he was the curator at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design in Milwaukee. Nicolas Bourriaud (born 1965) is a French curator and art critic, who has curated a great number of exhibitions and biennials all over the world. Career Bourriaud was the Paris correspondent for '' Flash Art'' (1987–1995) and the founder and director of the contemporary art magazine ''Documents sur l'art'' (1992–2000). He was also one of the 13 co-curators of the “Aperto” section of the 1993 Venice Biennale. Jean-Philippe Vassal
Jean-Philippe Vassal (; born 22 February 1954) is a French architect and academic. He runs the architectural practice Lacaton & Vassal, with Anne Lacaton. The pair were jointly awarded the 2021 Pritzker Architecture Prize. Early life and education Vassal was born 1954 in Casablanca during the French Protectorate of Morocco. He graduated from the École nationale supérieure d'architecture et de paysage de Bordeaux in 1980. After graduating, he spent five years in Niger as an architect and town planner. Anne Lacaton
Anne Lacaton (born 2 August 1955) is a French architect and educator. She runs the architectural practice Lacaton & Vassal, with Jean-Philippe Vassal. The pair were jointly awarded the 2021 Pritzker Prize. Early life and education She was born in Saint-Pardoux-la-Rivière on 2 August 1955.
