''Palabas'' is the debut studio album by Filipino rock band Sponge Cola. It was released on October 18, 2004, undeSony Music Philippines This album contains some songs that the band members made even before the group was officially formed, and includes an abundance of Tagalog-language tracks. ''Palabas'' spawned the singles "KLSP", "Lunes", " Gemini", " Una", and "Jeepney". An additional song, "Dragonfly", was released as online single in April 2006. The album was certified Gold by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) in 2005 with sales of 15,000 physical CD copies. To date the album has sold over 28,000 pure CD copies. In 2005, Sponge Cola released a repackaged edition of the album with a bonus CD that contains a music video for "Gemini", and some bonus audio tracks, including a remastered version of "Gemini", acoustic versions of "KLSP" and "Jeepney", and an unreleased track titled "Boundless". ''Transit'' is the second studio album by the Pinoy rock band Sponge Cola, released on September 8, 2006, and their first under Universal Records. The album was certified Platinum by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) with sales of 40,000 physical CD copies to date. Sponge Cola (sometimes spelled Spongecola) is a Filipino rock band formed in 2002. The band is composed of Yael Yuzon on vocals and guitars, Gosh Dilay on bass, Armo Armovit on guitars and drummer Tedmark Cruz. One of the most popular rock bands in the Philippines, Sponge Cola has produced a number of hit songs, including "Jeepney", "KLSP", " Gemini", "Bitiw", "Tuliro", "Di Na Mababawi", "Tambay", "Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay", and "XGF". Chris Cantada is a Filipino musician, vlogger and cosplayer best known as the former drummer and backing vocalist of the band Sponge Cola. He was featured in the music video of Sponge Cola's "Tambay" in a cameo guest appearance per post band departure. The song begins with a dramatic nylon guitar intro riff by lead guitarist Erwin Armovit, which is then layered by rhythm guitarist Yael Yuzon's chords. Ysmael "Yael" Yrastorza Yuzon (; born November 22, 1983) is a Filipino musician, best known as the vocalist and guitarist of the band Sponge Cola. Early life Ysmael Yrastorza Yuzon was born on November 22, 1983 in Manila, Philippines. His elder brother is Yan Yuzon (of the bands Pupil and Archipelago) and he has a younger sister named Ysabel. Early life Dilay attended high school at Ateneo de Manila University. Career Between 1998 and 2002, Ysmael "Yael" Yuzon, met Reynaldo "Gosh" Dilay through the school's theater guild, Teatro Baguntao. "Gemini" is a song by the Filipino rock band Sponge Cola. It is the twelfth track from their debut album, ''Palabas''. It reached and became #1 in Filipino music charts. It is also the theme song of the Filipino version (Metropolitan Theater Guild) of William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, as seen in its music video. The song was nominated for Song of the Year in the 2006 MYX Music Awards. The song begins with metronome by drummer Chris Cantada, then goes to the verse.
