Pakistan Naval Air Arm
The Pakistan Naval Air Arm (unofficially: Pakistan Naval Aviation) is the naval aviation and military administrative branch of the Pakistan Navy. The air arm is tasked with providing configuration of all naval aviation aircraft and is responsible for conducting the land-based strike capability, fleet air defense, evacuation and extraction, search and rescue, maritime reconnaissance, and anti-submarine warfare. The Commander Naval Aviation (COMNAV) command is usually held by a one-star ranking officer at Commodore rank who directs the field operations of the naval aviation. Harbin Z-9
The Harbin Z-9 (NATO reporting name "Haitun", ) is a People's Republic of China, Chinese military utility helicopter with armed helicopter, armed variants, manufactured by Harbin Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation. It is a license-built variant of the France, French Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin. Design and development The first Z-9 flew in 1981 in aviation, 1981, and was built in China from components supplied by Aérospatiale as part of a production patent bought on 15 October 1980. On 16 January 1992, the indigenous variant Z-9B, constructed with 70% Chinese-made parts, flew successfully. The flight test was completed in November 1992 and the design was finalized a month later. Z-9B production began in 1993 and entered PLA service in 1994. Commodore (Pakistan)
Commodore (abbreviated as CDRE or CDREPN) is a one-star commissioned armed senior officer rank in the Pakistan Navy, coast guards, and marines. It is the fourth-highest rank in Pakistan armed services with a NATO code of OF-6, it is worn on epaulettes with a one-star insignia, it ranks above OF-5 rank Captain and below two-star rank Rear Admiral. Commodore is equivalent to the rank of Brigadier of Pakistan Army and Air Commodore of the Pakistan Air Force. A Pakistani Commodore rank may be abbreviated as CDREPN to distinguish it from the same ranks offered in other countries, although there is no official abbreviation available for a Pakistani commodore. The 2024 Afghanistan–Pakistan clashes are a series of ongoing armed clashes consisting of cross-border airstrikes and exchanges of gunfire between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Operation Madad (Pakistan Navy)
Operation Madad was a non-combative and assistance military operation commenced and executed by Pakistan Navy after the massive national floods hit the country. Its primary operations were to conduct SAR raids to support affected areas of Pakistan following the 2010 Pakistan floods. 2010 Pakistan Floods
The floods in Pakistan began in late July 2010, resulting from heavy monsoon rains in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Punjab (Pakistani province), Punjab and, Balochistan, Pakistan, Balochistan regions of Pakistan, which affected the Indus River basin. Approximately one-fifth of Pakistan's total land area was affected by floods, with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province facing the brunt of the damage and casualties (above 90% of all the deaths occurred in the province). Nationwide, there were 1,985 deaths. According to Pakistani government data, the floods directly affected about 20 million people, mostly by destruction of property, livelihood and infrastructure.
