Pakistan National Women's Football Championship
The National Women's Football Championship is the top cup competition for women's football clubs in Pakistan. It was started in 2005 by the Pakistan Football Federation. Young Rising Stars has been the most successful team in the history of the competition, winning it five times (including four consecutive wins from 2010 to 2013). The most recent champion is Karachi City, which won in the 2024 edition. History The first edition was held in 2005, organised by Pakistan Football Federation (PFF). On 4 August 2010, PFF president Faisal Saleh Hayat dedicated the Best Player Award of the National Women Football Championship to Misha Dawood, the late Diya WFC midfielder. Hajra Khan (footballer)
Hajra Khan (; born 29 December 1993) is a Pakistani footballer who was the captain of the Pakistan women's national football team. She plays as a striker or midfielder. Afghanistan Women's National Football Team
The Afghanistan women's national football team (Dari: تیم ملی فوتبال زنان افغانستان) was the women's national team of Afghanistan until the fall of Kabul in August 2021. They played under the authority of the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF). In May 2025, FIFA has sanctioned the creation of an Afghan women's refugee team. The Islamabad Football Association (IFA) is the regional governing body of :association football and futsal in Islamabad, Pakistan. Its headquarters are located in Jinnah Sports Stadium. IFA is responsible for the organization and governance of football's major regional tournaments in Islamabad region including IFA 'A' and 'B' Division Leagues, the Jashan-i-Azadi Football Tournament, and the Islamabad Challenge Cup. It also organizes various Islamabad teams which participate in local and domestic tournaments. As of December 2020, IFA has 42 football clubs as members. Margalla Hills
The Margalla Hills () are a hill range within the Margalla Hills National Park on the northern edge of Islamabad Capital Territory, Pakistan, just south of Haripur District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They are part of the Himalayas, Himalayan foothills. The Margalla range has an area of 12,605 hectares. It is a range with many valleys as well as high mountains. Airblue Flight 202
Airblue Flight 202 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight departing from Karachi—a sprawling coastal metropolis in southern Pakistan and the nation's largest city—en route to Islamabad, the country's capital city located in the northern region, nestled in the foothills of the Margalla Hills. On 28 July 2010, the Airbus A321-231 jet airliner serving the flight crashed into the Margalla Hills, north of Islamabad, while approaching Benazir Bhutto International Airport. All 146 passengers and 6 crew members on board were killed. The crash is the deadliest air accident to occur in Pakistan to date and the first fatal crash involving an Airbus A321.
