Pakistan Federation Baseball
Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB) is the governing body for baseball in Pakistan. The Federation was founded in 1992 by Syed Khawar Shah, to promote the games of baseball in the country. The PFB has hosted the Asian Baseball Cup on several occasions. In 2015, Pakistan national baseball team took part in the Asian Baseball Championship in Taiwan as the West Asian Champion. In 2016, it debuted in the World Baseball Classic qualification in New York, following its 5th-place finish at the 2015 Asian Baseball Championship. In 2016, Pakistan women's national baseball team made their debut at the World Championship in South Korea. As of 2017, it is ranked sixth in Asia out of 15. In 2017, PFB launched a development programme in FATA. 20 young baseball players were selected for training at Pakistan Youth Baseball Academy. Pakistan Sports Board ( ur, ) was established under the Ministry of Education in 1962 as a corporate body for the purposes of promoting and developing uniform standards of competition for sports in Pakistan comparable to the standards prevailing internationally, and regulating and controlling sports in Pakistan on a national basis. Subsequently, in July 1977, with the creation of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the administrative control of Pakistan Sports Board was transferred to it. After the devolution of the Ministry of Sports in June 2011, the administrative control of the Pakistan Sports Board has transferred to Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC). The Pakistan Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA; ur, ) is a government-owned public utility maintaining power and water in Pakistan, although it does not manage thermal power. 2016 Women's Baseball World Cup
The 2016 Women's Baseball World Cup was the 7th edition of the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup, the biennial international women's baseball world championship tournament. The competition was held in Gijang, South Korea from September 3 to September 11, 2016. Teams For 2016, the number of qualifying teams grew from eight for its 6th edition in 2014 to twelve teams.
