Pakistan Davis Cup Team
The Pakistan men's national tennis team represents Pakistan in Davis Cup tennis competition. It is governed by the Pakistan Tennis Federation. Pakistan currently compete in the Asia/Oceania Zone of Group I. They reached the World Group play-offs in 2005, and reached the Eastern Zone final in 1984. 1948 Davis Cup
The 1948 Davis Cup was the 37th edition of the most important tournament between national teams in men's tennis. 25 teams entered the Europe Zone, and four teams entered the America Zone. Pakistan and Turkey made their first appearances in the competition. Australia defeated Mexico in the America Zone final, and Czechoslovakia defeated Sweden in the Europe Zone final. Australia defeated Czechoslovakia in the Inter-Zonal play-off, but fell to defending champions the United States in the Challenge Round. The championship was played at the West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, New York, United States on 4–6 September. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi
Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi ( Punjabi, ; born 17 Mar 1980) is a Pakistani professional tennis player who specialises in doubles. He is the only Pakistani player ever to reach a Grand Slam final, having done so in both men's and mixed doubles at the 2010 US Open, alongside Rohan Bopanna and Květa Peschke respectively. Qureshi has also reached seven further major semifinals across the two disciplines. He reached his career-high doubles ranking of world No. 8 in June 2011, and has won 18 titles on the ATP Tour, including the 2011 Paris Masters and 2013 Miami Open, with Bopanna and Jean-Julien Rojer respectively. Qureshi has also qualified for the ATP Finals in doubles on three occasions. In singles, he reached his highest ranking of world No. 125 in December 2007, and achieved his best Grand Slam result at the Wimbledon Championships that year, reaching the second round. Aqeel Khan
Aqeel Khan (born 30 January 1980, in Karachi) is a Pakistani tennis player. His favourite surface is Grass. He is coached by Pakistani tennis coach Jamil Khan, who is his father. Aqeel Khan is sponsored by Jaffer Brothers (Jaffer Group of Companies). Career His career highlights include helping the Pakistan Davis Cup team defeat favourites, New Zealand, in the Davis Cup, by beating Simon Rea, 7–6(5), 2–6, 3–6, 6–3, 6–2 in the fifth rubber; and reaching the Davis Cup World Group play-offs against Chile in Santiago. 2025 Davis Cup
The 2025 Davis Cup is the 113th edition of the Davis Cup, a tournament between national teams in men's tennis. It is part of the 2025 ATP Tour calendar. The tournament's format was changed this year. Under the new format, the September stage (Qualifiers second round) will feature seven home-or-away ties held over two days. The seven winning teams will join the host nation in the Final 8 knock-out stage in November. The host country will be awarded a spot in the Final 8 as long as it is ranked in the top 50 nations or one of its players has an individual ranking in the top 10. The Pakistan Billie Jean King/Fed Cup team represents Pakistan in Billie Jean King Cup (formerly known as the Fed Cup) tennis competition, and is governed by the Pakistan Tennis Federation. History Pakistan competed in its first Fed Cup in 1997. Their best result was finishing third in Group II in 1999. Fed Cup 2011 Pakistan re-entered the Fed Cup in 2011 for the first time since 2000.
