Paithani (web Series)
''Paithani'' is a Hindi drama web series directed by Gajendra Ahire and produced by Zee Studios and Aarambh Entertainment. It follows a mother and daughter as they face challenges while weaving their last Paithani saree. Starring Mrinal Kulkarni, Eisha Singh, Shivam Bhaargava, Syed Zafar Ali, and Sangeeta Balachandran, the trailer was released on 7 November 2024, and the series premiered on ZEE5 on 15 November 2024. Gajendra Vitthal Ahire is a National Award winner Indian film maker and screenwriter. He is noted for his work in Marathi cinema, theater, and television. He won the Silver Lotus Award at the 51st National Film Awards for his debut film Not Only Mrs. Raut in 2003, and National award for the Best Feature Film in Marathi for Shevri in 2006. He has also worked as a television screenwriter for programs such as Shrimaan-Shrimati. Mrinal Kulkarni (née Deo; born 21 June 1971) is an Indian actress and director known for her work in several films and television productions. She is best known for her role as Mirabai in Doordarshan's '' Mirabai'' and as a fairy on Star Plus's '' Son Pari''. She has also acted in Marathi language and Hindi TV serials and films. Paithani
Paithani () is a variety of sari, named after the Paithan town in Aurangabad from state of Maharashtra in India where the sari was first made by hand. Present day Yeola town in Nashik, Maharashtra is the largest manufacturer of Paithani. Paithani is characterised by selvedges of an oblique square design, and a ''padar'' with a peacock design. Plain as well as spotted designs are available. Among other varieties, single coloured and kaleidoscope-coloured designs are also popular. The kaleidoscopic effect is achieved by using one colour for weaving lengthwise and another for weaving width wise.
