Painkiller Tour
The Painkiller Tour was a concert tour by English heavy metal band Judas Priest which was in support of the album ''Painkiller''. It ran from 18 October 1990 until 15 April 1991. This tour introduced new drummer Scott Travis from Racer X, who joined the band in 1989 after previous drummer Dave Holland's departure that same year. He has remained with the band ever since, surpassing Holland as the band's longest serving drummer. Pre-tour A one-off pre-tour show took place on 13 September 1990 in which the band performed at the third annual Foundations Forum in Los Angeles. It was recorded and put together along with the performance from Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson's solo band (recorded on 27 June 1990 in London) as a bootlegged split live album. Judas Priest
Judas Priest are an English heavy metal band formed in Birmingham in 1969. They have sold over 50 million albums and are frequently ranked as one of the greatest metal bands of all time. Despite an innovative and pioneering body of work in the latter half of the 1970s, the band had struggled with indifferent record production and a lack of major commercial success until 1980, when they rose to commercial success with the album '' British Steel''. The band's membership has seen much turnover, including a revolving cast of drummers in the 1970s and the departure of singer Rob Halford in 1992. Tim "Ripper" Owens, formerly of Winter's Bane, replaced Halford in 1996 and recorded two albums with Judas Priest, before Halford returned to the band in 2003. Pantera () is an American heavy metal band from Arlington, Texas formed in 1981, and currently comprised of vocalist Phil Anselmo, bassist Rex Brown, and touring musicians Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante. Testament (band)
Testament is an American thrash metal band from Berkeley, California. Formed in 1983 under the name Legacy, the band's current lineup comprises rhythm guitarist Eric Peterson, lead vocalist Chuck Billy, lead guitarist Alex Skolnick, bassist Steve Di Giorgio and drummer Dave Lombardo. Testament has experienced many lineup changes over the years, with Peterson being the only remaining original member, though they have since been rejoined by one of its songwriters Skolnick, who had been out of the band from 1992 to 2005. The song is one of the band's better known singles, and is readily recognized by its opening guitar riff. Composition Prior to releasing 1980's '' British Steel'', Judas Priest had been making moves toward streamlining their music into a simpler, less processed sound. That approach came to full fruition on ''British Steel''. "Breaking the Law" combines a recognisable minor-key opening riff and a rhythmic chorus as its main hooks.
