Pahkasika
''Pahkasika'' ( Finnish for " warthog") was a Finnish adult humour magazine, edited by Markku Paretskoi and published from 1975 to 2000. Unlike the British adult humour comic ''Viz'' and the Nordic adult humour magazine '' Pyton''/'' Myrkky'', ''Pahkasika'' did not include much pornography despite sometimes very ribald jokes. Instead it focused more on such things as alcoholism, family crises, xenophobia and other negative aspects of adult life, all presented in a humorous way that appeared deceptively child-friendly. Some of the jokes in the magazine were almost indistinguishable from articles in a mainstream magazine. Peräsmies
''Peräsmies'' is a Finnish underground comic strip drawn by Timo Kokkila that appeared in the Pahkasika magazine from 1983 to 2000. The strips were initially written by Kokkila together with Sami Laitala. Other scriptwriters have also occasionally participated in the comic. The comic depicts the adventures of Peräsmies, a Finnish superhero and a parody of Superman. The name ''Peräsmies'' literally means "Butt Man" and is a play off ''Teräsmies'' ("Steel man") which is the Finnish name for Superman. The "official" English name of Peräsmies, according to Kokkila, is "Phartman", although "Pooperman" might better capture the essence of the original pun. Vanhat Herrat
''Vanhat herrat'' ( Finnish for "The old gentlemen") is a Finnish comic strip drawn by Pauli Heikkilä and written by him and Markku Paretskoi. It was frequently featured in the popular humour magazine '' Pahkasika'', Paretskoi being the magazine's executive editor for its entire run. While preliminary versions of the characters first appeared in a Tampere journalism students' union magazine in 1977, it is generally considered that the characters reached their mature form in 1982. The creators of the strip were awarded the Finnish Comic Society's " Puupää hat" award in 1998. In 1998–1999 the strip appeared weekly in the urban newspaper '' Tamperelainen'', but in 2000 Pahkasika was discontinued, and the strip has been on hiatus since 2002. Hemmo Paskiainen
''Hemmo Paskiainen'' (approximately "Hemmo the Shithead") is a Finnish comic strip drawn by Ave Koskela, originally published in the '' Pahkasika'' magazine. Ave Koskela is the pen name of brothers Ari and Vesa Koskela, who are also famous for the strips '' Pallopäät'' and '' Koskisen perhe'' in the ''Pahkasika'' magazine. Ari draws the comics and Vesa writes them. The brothers have been drawing ''Hemmo Paskiainen'' since 1984. The strips are half a page to four pages long and deal with the life of Armas Paskiainen and his teenage son Hemmo. Hemmo has two friends, Stegu and Löka. At first the strip was about Armas Paskiainen's son Hemmo and was named accordingly. Flatulence
Flatulence, in humans, is the expulsion of gas from the intestines via the anus, commonly referred to as farting. "Flatus" is the medical word for gas generated in the stomach or bowels.
