Pagla Thana () is a administrative thana in Gafargaon, Mymensingh, Bangladesh, it is under Bangladesh Police, It was established in 2012. Geography Pagla Thana borders Trishal and Nandail in the north, Sreepur and Gazipur in the south, Bhaluka in the west, Nandail and Hossainpur and Kishoreganj in the east. History On 11 November 2002, the Ministry of Home Affairs under the jurisdiction of the BNP— Jamaat coalition government, gave the approval and order for development for Pagla Thana. In January 2003, the Ministry of Home Affairs sent a proposal to Public Works Department for construction of the main building for Pagla Thana. On 31 March 2011, in a public meeting organized by Awami League, ''the then'' Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced the beginning of planning the administrative implementation of Pagla Thana. Gafargaon () is an upazila of Mymensingh District in Mymensingh Division, Bangladesh. Geography Gafargaon is located at . It has 73,130 households and total area 401.16 km2. Trishal on the north, Nandail in the east, Hossainpur and Pakundia upazilas of Kishoreganj district, Kapasia and Sreepur upazilas of Gazipur district on the south and Trishal and Bhaluka upazilas on the west. Nearly three sides of the border are surrounded by river Brahmaputra, Kalivana on the south and Sutia in the west. Just land on the north. Kishoreganj District () is a district in Dhaka Division, Bangladesh. Earlier it was a ''mahakuma'' (sub-division) under Mymensingh District, Mymensingh district. 2495.07 km2 of land was taken from Mymensingh District, Mymensingh district to form Kishoreganj District. Giasuddin Ahmed
Gias Uddin Ahmed (9 May 1954 – 5 September 2022) was a politician of Awami League, officer of the Bangladesh Army and member of parliament for Mymensingh-10. Career Ahmed fought in the Bangladesh War of Independence. Ahmed was arrested in 1981 for being involved in the assassination of Ziaur Rahman, president of Bangladesh. Ahmed was elected to Parliament in 2008 from Mymensingh-10 as an Awami League candidate. He had received 142,126 votes while his nearest rival from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Fazlur Rahman Sultan, had received 71,511 votes. He served in the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs and the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Shamsul Huda Panchbagi
Shamsul Huda Panchbagi (; 1897 – 24 September 1988) was an Islamic scholar and politician in Bangladesh. He was a two-time member of the Bengal Legislative Assembly (1937—1947), Bengal Legislative Assembly and later founded the Emarat Party which supported the advocated for United Bengal. Early life and education Panchbagi was born in 1897, to a Bengali Muslim family in Maijbari in Gafargaon Upazila, Gafargaon of Mymensingh District, Mymensingh. His parents were Muhammad Riaz Uddin and Umme Kulsum. He received primary education at his own home. Later, he was admitted into Madrasa-e-Aliya, Rampur, Rampur State Madrasa. After receiving education from there, he was admitted into Oriental College. Career After returning to his Bengal, Panchbagi started working for the farmers and took part in movements against the British and zamindars.
