Charles Page Fletcher (born 25 February 1951) is a Canadian actor who has starred in films and on television. He is best known for his role on the 1980s hit HBO TV series '' The Hitchhiker'' as the main title character from 1984–1990 and for playing RoboCop in the TV mini series '' RoboCop: Prime Directives''. Biography The son of Ron and Peggy (née Fulton), Fletcher was born and grew up in Bass River, Nova Scotia. His first feature film was in the 1982 horror movie '' Humongous'' as Tom Rice. His other films include '' American Nightmare'' (1983), '' Martha, Ruth, & Edie'' (1988), and '' Friends, Lovers, & Lunatics'' (1989). Bass River, Nova Scotia
Bass River is an unincorporated community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in Colchester County. The community shares its name with the river that flows through it into the Cobequid Bay. History Bass River was founded by members of the Ulster emigrant "Judge" James Fulton's family, who himself in c.1767 was the first to settle the area (at King's Rest) a decade after the tragic expulsion of Acadians from the region. Those who settled Bass River and its neighbouring communities were largely of direct Ulster-Scottish descent. Many of these settlers' descendants have remained in the community as is evident from a list of surnames prevalent in the area today. Ulster-Scottish Campbells, Creelmans, Davisons/ Davidsons, Fishers, Fultons, McLellans, Starratts/Starritts, Vances, and Wilsons settled the area, as did Lewis's from Scotland.
