Heinz Goldberg
Heinz Goldberg (1891–1969) was a German screenwriter. He also directed two silent films.Mitchell p.170 Following the Nazi Party's rise to power in 1933, the Jewish Goldberg went into exile in several countries including Austria and the Soviet Union before settling in Britain. Hermine Sterler
Minna Stern (20 March 1894 – 25 May 1982), known professionally as Hermine Sterler, was a German-American actress whose career spanned both the silent and the talkie film eras on two continents. Career Sterler, who appeared in several Hollywood films, was once affiliated with the Burgtheater in Vienna. She debuted in 1918 at the Residenztheater Hannover and later performed in Berlin, where she appeared at the Kleinen Theater ("Little Theater"). She played a saloon lady and, from 1921, often appeared in German silent film. She flourished as a character actor in roles of young wives and mothers. In 1930, she appeared as Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna in '' Rasputin, Demon with Women''. In 1933, a German government decree was enacted by Joseph Goebbels under the auspices of a newly created agency called Die Reichskulturkammer. Alexander Granach (April 18, 1890 – March 14, 1945) was a German-Austrian actor in the 1920s and 1930s who emigrated to the United States in 1938. Life and career Granach was born Schaje Granoch in Werbowitz (Wierzbowce/Werbiwci) ( Austrian Galicia then, now ''Verbivtsi'', Kolomyia Raion, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine), to Jewish parents and rose to theatrical prominence at the Volksbühne in Berlin. Granach entered films in 1922; among the most widely exhibited of his silent efforts was ''Nosferatu'' (1922), F.W. Murnau's loose adaptation of ''Dracula'', in which the actor was cast as Knock, the film's counterpart to Renfield. He co-starred in such major early German talkies as '' Kameradschaft'' (1931).
