Toland is himself a former three time "World" kickboxing champion. Born in Killea, County Donegal, Ireland, Toland regularly trained in Derry. Due to the difficulty of finding sparring partners in Derry and Donegal, he had to travel weekly to Waterford in order to keep in top shape for his upcoming fights. Today, Toland runs his own gymnasium, PT's Kickboxing Gym in Carrigans, County Donegal. Kickboxing is a combat sport focused on kicking and punching. The combat takes place in a boxing ring, normally with boxing gloves, mouthguards, shorts, and bare feet to favour the use of kicks. Killea, County Donegal
Killea () is a village in County Donegal, Ireland, located on the border with County Londonderry in Northern Ireland. History Killea was one of several Protestant villages in eastern Donegal that would have been transferred to Northern Ireland, had the recommendations of the Irish Boundary Commission been enacted in 1925. This border village once had a customs post on the main B193/ R237 Letterkenny Road.
