Paddington 2 (soundtrack)
''Paddington 2 (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)'' is the soundtrack to the 2017 film ''Paddington 2'' directed by Paul King, which is a sequel to ''Paddington'' (2014). Originally, the film was set to be scored by Nick Urata, who expressed his interest in returning to the sequel. However, the film was later scored by Dario Marianelli in his first collaboration with King. Decca Records released the soundtrack on 10 November 2017 alongside the film's theatrical release in the United Kingdom. Ai provides the theme song for the Japanese release of the sequel, titled "Little Hero." Dario Marianelli
Dario Marianelli (born 21 June 1963) is an Italian composer. Early life Marianelli was born in Pisa, Italy. He studied piano and composition in Florence and in 1990 he moved to London. After a year as a postgraduate composer at the Guildhall School of Music, he took up a three-year postgraduate program at the National Film and Television School in London, from which he graduated in 1997. While there, he also undertook diverse projects, composing for concerts, contemporary ballet and theatre productions. Career Marianelli had already written scores for several films and TV projects, including movies such as '' Ailsa'' and '' Pandaemonium'', when director Joe Wright contacted him about scoring his 2005 film '' Pride & Prejudice''. He subsequently composed for Wright's films ''Atonement'', '' The Soloist'', '' Anna Karenina'' and ''Darkest Hour''. The International Film Music Critics Association (IFMCA) is a professional association for online, print and radio journalists who specialize in writing about original film and television music. "Jump in the Line (Shake, Senora)" is a calypso song composed by Lord Kitchener and best known from a version recorded by vocalist Harry Belafonte in 1961. Other renditions Woody Herman and his Third Herd recorded Kitchener's song in 1952 for Mars Records; Herman's band recorded it live that same year with the title "Jump in Line." Lord Invader released a cover of the song on the Folkways label in 1955, titled "Labor Day (Jump in the Line)". His rendition reached mento star Lord Flea, who in turn recorded a version based on Lord Invader's interpretation. It was released on August 1, 1958, by Capitol Records. The song was recorded by Lord Fly and Joseph Spence in 1958. Fly's version inspired Harry Belafonte, who released his own take on November 17, 1961 (credited to his pseudonym Raymond Bell on the disc label). It was included on the album '' Jump Up Calypso.'' The Academy Award for Best Original Score is an award presented annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) to the best substantial body of music in the form of dramatic underscoring written specifically for the film by the submitting composer.
