Padatik is a 2024 Indian Bengali language biographical drama film written, directed and edited by Srijit Mukherji. The film focuses on Mrinal Sen's active lifetime and his contribution in the Bengali Cinema. The film was released theatrically on 15 August 2024, India's Independence Day. Srijit Mukherji
Srijit Mukherji is an excellent national award winning Indian film director and screenwriter who predominantly works in Bengali cinema. His regular collaboration with veteran actor Prosenjit Chatterjee brought him into the limelight. His first feature film ''Autograph'' (2010), was a critical and commercial success, where he had written the script with Chatterjee in mind. His fifth film, ''Jaatishwar,'' won four national awards at India's 61st National Film Awards (2014). He won the National Film Award for Best Direction and Best Original Screenplay for his sixth film, '' Chotushkone,'' at India's 62nd National Film Awards. Satyajit Ray
Satyajit Ray (; 2 May 1921 – 23 April 1992) was an Indian director, screenwriter, documentary filmmaker, author, essayist, lyricist, magazine editor, illustrator, calligrapher, and music composer. One of the greatest auteurs of film-making, Ray is celebrated for works including '' The Apu Trilogy'' (1955–1959), ''The Music Room'' (1958), ''The Big City'' (1963) and '' Charulata'' (1964). Ray was born in Calcutta to nonsense rhyme author Sukumar Ray. The New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) is an annual film festival that takes place in New York City, and screens films relating to India, the Indian Diaspora, and the work of Indian filmmakers. The festival began in November 2001 and was founded by Aroon Shivdasani and the Indo-American Arts Council. About 40 films are screened, including features films, shorts, documentaries, and animated films. History The festival began in November 2001 as the Indo-American Arts Council Film Festival (IAAC). Sujan Mukherjee (actor)
Sujan Mukherjee (also known as Neel Mukherjee) is an Indian actor who works in Bengali language films, television and theatre. In 2012 he made his directorial debut with the film ''Ghete Gho''. He is an active Member of the renowned Theatre Group Chetana. On 22 February 2016 his directorial debut, in the field of Theatre, ''Ghashiram Kotwal'', which is an adaptation on Marathi play, was premiered. In 2018 he directed Don: Taake Bhalo Laage an adaptation of Dale Wasserman's Don Quixote which was translated into Bengali by his father Arun Mukhopadhyay many years back. Barun Chanda is an Indian Bengali advertising professional, actor and author based in the city of Kolkata. He is mostly remembered for his role in Satyajit Ray's '' Seemabaddha''.
