Jury Packing
Jury selection is the selection of the people who will serve on a jury during a jury trial. The group of potential jurors (the "jury pool,” also known as the ''venire'') is first selected from among the community using a reasonably random method. Jury lists are compiled from voter registrations and driver license or ID renewals. From those lists, summonses are mailed. A panel of jurors is then assigned to a courtroom. The prospective jurors are randomly selected to sit in the jury box. At this stage, they will be questioned in court by the judge and/or attorneys Jury selection in the United States, in the United States. Depending on the jurisdiction, attorneys may have an opportunity to mount a ''challenge for cause'' argument or use one of a limited number of peremptory challenges. In some jurisdictions that have capital punishment, the jury must be death-qualified jury, death-qualified to remove those who are opposed to the death penalty. Packing And Cracking
Gerrymandering, ( , originally ) defined in the contexts of representative electoral systems, is the political manipulation of electoral district boundaries to advantage a party, group, or socioeconomic class within the constituency. The manipulation may involve "cracking" (diluting the voting power of the opposing party's supporters across many districts) or "packing" (concentrating the opposing party's voting power in one district to reduce their voting power in other districts). Gerrymandering can also be used to protect incumbents. Wayne Dawkins, a professor at Morgan State University, describes it as politicians picking their voters instead of voters picking their politicians. The term ''gerrymandering'' is a portmanteau of a salamander and Elbridge Gerry, Vice President of the United States at the time of his death, who, as governor of Massachusetts in 1812, signed a bill that created a partisan district in the Boston area that was compared to the shape of a myth ...

Packing (firestopping)
Packing is the process and/or the materials used in filling both Penetrant (mechanical, electrical, or structural), service Penetration (firestop), penetrations and Joint (building), building joints with backer materials as approved components within a firestop. Purpose Packing with inherently fire-resistive materials, such as rockwool or ceramic fibre is intended to protect sealants that would, on their own, be consumed by the fire. Lesser packing, such as foam backer rod or fibreglass are used simply to hold up materials that can survive fire testing on their own. In both cases, the packing is placed in such a way as to control the exact depth of the materials that top off the seal. Packing (phallus)
Packing is wearing padding or a phallic object in the front of the pants or underwear to give the appearance of having a penis or bulge. Packing is commonly practiced by trans men. People who cross-dress as male may also "pack". Packers The object used for packing, sometimes called a "packer", may take the form of only a penis shape or may also incorporate a false scrotum and testicles. Packers may be used to make male clothing hang and move correctly. If a packer is not used, the shape of the clothing is sometimes visibly "empty". Soft packing The phrase "soft packing" refers to packing with a device that cannot be used for sexual penetration. Homemade packers may be very low-tech and consist of rolled-up socks or condoms filled with liquids or gel. The materials used in the manufacturing process include gelatin, latex, and silicone. There are many commercially available packers, which more realistically emulate the size, shape, colour and texture of the male genitals. All so ...

Seal (mechanical)
A seal is a device or material that helps join systems, mechanisms or other materials together by preventing leak, leakage (e.g. in a wikt:pumping, pumping system), containing pressure, or excluding contamination. The effectiveness of a seal is dependent on adhesion in the case of sealants and compression in the case of gaskets. The seals are installed in pumps in a wide range of industries including chemicals, water supply, paper production, food processing and many other applications. A stationary seal may also be referred to as a 'packing'. Seal types: *Induction sealing or cap sealing *Sealant, Adhesive, sealant *Bodok seal, a specialized gas sealing washer for medical applications *Bonded seal, also known as Dowty Group, Dowty seal or Dowty washer. A type of Washer (hardware), washer with integral gasket, widely used to provide a seal at the entry point of a screw or bolt *Bridgman seal, a piston sealing mechanism that creates a high pressure reservoir from a lower pressure ...

Packing Problems
Packing problems are a class of optimization problems in mathematics that involve attempting to pack objects together into containers. The goal is to either pack a single container as Packing density, densely as possible or pack all objects using as few containers as possible. Many of these problems can be related to real-life packaging, storage and transportation issues. Each packing problem has a dual covering problem, which asks how many of the same objects are required to completely cover every region of the container, where objects are allowed to overlap. In a bin packing problem, people are given: * A ''container'', usually a two- or three-dimensional convex region, possibly of infinite size. Multiple containers may be given depending on the problem. * A set of ''objects'', some or all of which must be packed into one or more containers. The set may contain different objects with their sizes specified, or a single object of a fixed dimension that can be used repeatedly. ...
