Pablo Catáneo
Pablo Catáneo is a fictional character in the 2012 Argentine telenovela ''Graduados''. He is played by Luciano Cáceres, both as an adult and, in flashbacks, as a teenager. Fictional biography Pablo Catáneo attended high school in the 1980s, graduating in 1989. He had sex with a girl in the bathroom during the graduation party, and his girlfriend María Laura Falsini left him when she discovered him. Still, as she got pregnant, her father Clemente Falsini forced them to a shotgun wedding. The plot concerns a group of people who graduated from high school in 1989 and reunite twenty years later. The main character, Andrés Goddzer (Daniel Hendler), discovers that María Laura Falsini (Nancy Dupláa) was pregnant in 1989 and married Pablo Catáneo (Luciano Cáceres), who thought that he was the child's father. The resulting parental dispute, the love triangle of the main characters and 1980s nostalgia are frequent plot elements, and story arcs related to school bullying and LGBT rights are also featured. A shotgun wedding is a wedding arranged in response to pregnancy resulting from premarital sex. The phrase comes from the figurative imagining that the relatives of the pregnant bride threaten the reluctant male groom with a shotgun in order to ensure that he marries the woman.
