PZL Bielsko SZD-27
The SZD-27 Kormoran (Cormorant) (''Szybowcowy Zakład Doświadczalny'' - Glider experimental department) was a two-seat glider designed in Poland from 1961. Development The SZD-27 Kormoran was designed to cater for the large demand from Polish aeroclubs for two-seat training machines, for basic training, advanced training and aerobatics. The SZD-27 was the first and only glider designed by SZD to be built entirely of metal, with light alloy skins, formers, ribs, frames etc., with steel high strength detail parts. The undercarriage comprises a semi-recessed mainwheel with skids under the nose and at the tail. Only two were built which both survive, one in the Kraków museum store-house and one restored to airworthiness in the 1990s by a private owner. LET L-13 Blaník
The L-13 Blaník is a two-seater trainer glider produced by Let Kunovice since 1956. It is the most numerous and widely used glider in the world. In United States Air Force Academy service, it is designated TG-10C and was used for basic flight training up to 2012. Design * Fuselage of semi-monocoque construction employing longerons and bulkheads, with an ovoid cross-section. The SZD-24 Foka (Seal) (''Szybowcowy Zakład Doświadczalny'' - Glider Experimental Works) was a single-seat high-performance aerobatic glider designed and built in Poland in 1960. Development The SZD-24 Foka was designed for competition flying in the 'Standard' class as well as aerobatic flying. The design originated from a design competition within SZD which was won by the ”Delfin”, to become the SZD-24 Foka in production. The first flight, by SP-2069, took place in May 1960 at Bielsko but results were not good with poorly performing airbrakes which were unable to limit the airspeed below VNE (Velocity Never Exceed).
