PWG Mystery Vortex V
Mystery Vortex is an annual professional wrestling event produced by Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG). The event is titled as such because most of the matches are not announced beforehand to captivate the audiences with surprise matches. The event is notable for unannounced returns of major PWG wrestlers, surprise debuts of major stars and matches often being announced during the event. Dates, venues and main events Results Mystery Vortex I One of the PWG's six co-founders and the promotion's veteran Joey Ryan wrestled his farewell match in the promotion against Scorpio Sky due to signing a contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Ryan lost the match. Mystery Vortex II Mystery Vortex III Josh Alexander competed in his farewell match at the event as he retired from wrestling due to neck injury. Pro Wrestling Guerrilla
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Los Angeles, California. As of 2024, it is on an extended hiatus. It was created by pro wrestlers Disco Machine, Excalibur, Scott Lost, Joey Ryan, Super Dragon, and Top Gun Talwar. Since then, Disco, Talwar, Ryan and Lost have retired and left the company. The promotion debuted on July 26, 2003, and became known for its unique mix of humor and pro wrestling as well as their over-the-top press releases and show titles, such as "''Kee_ The _ee Out of Our _ool!''", "''Free Admission (Just Kidding)''", "''Straight to DVD''" and "''From Parts Well Known''". In 2016, Dave Meltzer of the ''Wrestling Observer Newsletter'' called PWG "the best wrestling in North America". Pro Wrestling Guerrilla commonly runs shows every month, which are then usually sold via DVD and Blu-ray. Marty Scurll
Martin Scurll (born 26 July 1988) is an English professional wrestler. He is known for his work in Ring of Honor (ROH). Scurll began his career in 2005, working on the British independent circuit. In 2012, he competed on the TNA's show TNA Wrestling: British Boot Camp, where some British wrestlers competed for a tryout with TNA. While working with PROGRESS Wrestling, where he won the World Championship twice, he chanaged his gimmick to The Villain. His popularity gave him the chance to work on the American independent circuit, working with Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and signed a contract with Ring of Honor in 2016, quickly winning the ROH World Television Championship. During his time with ROH, Scurll also worked with the Japanese promotion New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he became part of the stable Bullet Club and became IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship, NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champion. ...
